she stared at her room with disdain, the walls were painted blue with sports posters lining them. her bed covers were blue with footballs on them, her clothes were blue and green and brown and black and boy boy boy but she was not a boy. she opened her door and saw her little sister, dressed prettily in a pink nightgown getting ready for bed. she sighed and shut the door again. she checked her phone.
somewhere halfway across town a boy was being yelled at by his father. it went something like this "a mess, distressed, I am unimpressed, you're excess, a dress is all you'll ever be." the boy ran to his room and pulled out his phone, texting his gorgeous girlfriend.

melmart: yupthe girl quietly grabbed a blue backpack and shoved in some black skinny jeans and a white muscle tee. she slipped some socks on and a pair of black high tops.
'don't you think its funny how they tell us how to live? don't you think its funny how we're all delinquent kids?' she thought to herself as she scrambled out of her window, jumping down into the soft grass.
she looked down at her black sports jersey and (loose fit, ew) jeans, the outfit she threw on when her mother was screaming at her for wearing a pink shirt and white skinny jeans, and cringed before heading down the street in the pitch blackness of the night

melmart: on kings now xxshe stood waiting for her boyfriend on kings road, after about five minutes she spotted him. he, like her, was carrying a backpack, though this one was pink and he, like her, was wearing clothes that were misfitted for their respective gender. he was wearing a deep pink dress and little black heels. there they stood, two kids trapped inside the wrong bodies, helping each other out.
the girl presented the blue bag to her boyfriend, he smiled gratefully, took it, before handing her the pink bag. she looked inside. it was as though angels were singing, her beautiful boyfriend had brought her a pastel pink crop top with a white grid design, a matching skirt and white doc martins. he had also packed in a wig, delicately folded to fit in a plastic bag and place gently at the bottom. it had half black half pink hair, she was ecstatic. they proceeded on their way to a public bathroom, climbed the locked fence and went into respective bathrooms. when she was changed and had her disgusting clothes shoved deep into her pink bag she came out and smiled at the boy who looked so handsome in the clothes he now wore. the boy smiled at her.
"welcome to the land of broken minds, babe."
