Jane's pov:
I wake up and start to freak out until I realise where I am, I slowly sit up, the aroma from the food next to me making me hungry. I carefully pick at the food, making sure it's safe before I eat, as I finish I hear a chorus cheers come from the room outside. I get up, ignoring the pain, and head to the bathroom, deciding to take a shower as I haven't had one for a bit. My body hurts as I wash it, the soap stinging each cut, as I get out I pay myself dry, trying not to open any stitches. I stare at myself in the mirror and sigh, Mitch was right, I did lose a lot of blood. I quickly get changed and sit on my bed, looking out into the ocean. 'It's nice isn't it?' Jael asks me 'yea, just wish I was able to have a family to walk on it with' I answer, I can feel her become sad a bit and we both sit in silence as we imagine what it would be like if I did have a family. I hear a knock at my door and go to open it "hey Jane, we're all going to eat breakfast, do you want to join?" Vik asks, I hesitate a bit before nodding, he moves out of the way and we both walk to the kitchen "there will be other pack members around, but they won't hurt you" Vik explains as we turn a corner "also If they make any feminine jokes, I'm sorry, they're immature sometimes" he adds with a chuckle, I nod and we walk into the kitchen, I instantly get nervous but push myself to be social "hi..." I squeak out, everyone turns to me and I hear a few faint wolf calls "ok there is no need for such things boys" josh said from behind me, making me jump a little "does he always appear from out of nowhere?" I ask shyly after josh leaves the room "yea, you'll get used to it after a few days, it's not as often as you think" Lachlan says, a few other boys cough and we all turn to them "no introductions?" The blonde one asks "oh right, Jane that's Simon, Tobi and Ethan, boys, this is Jane" Harry says for me, pointing to each of the boys as he says their names "nice to meet you" Tobi says as he holds out a hand for me to shake, I take it and we shake hands 'he's trustable' jael says to me and I stop myself from laughing. "Likewise" I say as he lets go, I grab a plate of food and start eating, my stomach satisfied by the food. I clean up my plate and wait for everyone else to finish "lemme show you around" Harry says as he finishes cleaning his plate "ok"I reply, my shyness being annoying. He leads me through the main rooms of the house, naming the rest off as we go past. "I think I'm going to spend a lot of time in that game room" I say with a slight laugh, he laughs as well and we head back to the living room "you don't need to answer this, but how much do you know about being a wolf?" He asks as we sit on the couches, I give him a sad smile but answer it anyways "pretty much nothing, the guy that attacked me told me that only important wolves get to shift, and nothing else, hence why I didn't know jael was that voice in my head and that I have only shifted once" I say looking at the ground, Harry moves closer and wraps his arms around me, I stiffen a bit. 'this feels nice' Jael says to me, I loosen up and hug Harry back, a few tears falling down my face "I don't know what's true anymore, apparently my parents left me for dead and one of them is dead, but how do I know that's not a lie? Everything I know could possibly be a lie and I will probably never know what's true" I say as I start crying, Harry rubs my back "shhh, it's ok, everything will be ok. We will help you figure out what's true or not, we're here for you" he says in my ear, I nod into his shoulder and pull back "Harry what voices can a wolf hear in their head? I sometimes hear a male voice in my head, just at random times." I ask, he thinks for a bit "anyone in your pack, your wolf, and family I think, yea that's pretty much it" he answers, I think for a bit, trying to figure out who his guy is. "Do you know what a mate is?" Harry asks, I shake my head no and see him frown out of the corner of my eye "looks like we have a lot of stuff to teach you" he adds with a laugh, we sit for a bit, chatting to each other about what I do and don't know.
Preston's pov:
"Rob, Jane's alive but in danger, last time I hear from her was last night, I don't think she knows though" I say to rob as we slowly walk back to the pack house, trying not to tire ourselves as it's a 7 hour walk "it will be ok Preston, think positive, right now that's all you can do" he replies 'apparently my parents left me for dead and one of them is dead, but how do I know that's not a lie? Everything I know could possibly be a lie and I will probably never know what's true' Jane's voice blasts though my head, her voice sounding like she has been crying. "Oh Jane, what have they done to you" I accidentally say out loud, I shake my thoughts away and continue may way back to the house.
Jane's pov:
'He's kind, and kinda cute' Jael says, I chuckle as I put my hair into a braid 'I don't know though, what if I find my mate?' I ask her 'ask Tobi what it feels like to have a mate, I'm sure his off duty tomorrow' he answers, I roll my eyes and walk into the closet, going to the loose clothes, not wanting to show off my figure. I pull out a pair of black tights and a oversized jumper, matching it with a random pair of shoes that attract my attention. 'I miss Jane you know? I hope I find her so I can keep her safe' that mans voice says in my mind "I wish I knew who you are" I mumble as I fumble around with my braid.
Preston's pov:
'I wish I knew who you are' Jane says in my head, I sigh 'I don't know if I should tell you, they might have changed your memories, just know that I've been looking for you for years' I think, trying to communicate with her.
Jane's pov:
What does he mean? Changed my memories of who? I sigh to myself and make my way down to the games room. I pull out a random game and start playing, cheering when I win and rolling my eyes whenever I lose. "Hey Jane, just letting you know, tomorrow you have training with Tobi, also there's two more members that are arriving back from a mission tomorrow, Preston and rob." Josh says, I jump a bit again but the name rob and preston click something in my mind "does rob have a weird beard and is kind of overconfident? His name rings a bell but I'm not sure if it's him or not" I say, josh laughs a bit and sits down next to me "yea he does, can I ask, what did the guy who kept you say about your family?" He asks, I instantly get sad at the thought that I can't seem to talk, so Jael takes over "Jane's still a bit sensitive about family but I'll tell you, he said that he left her for dead, that he took her in and her mum is dead, but I honestly don't believe that, I remember loud noises, and that wouldn't go with being left for dead" she says 'you could've told me earlier, bloody hell' I say to her 'shush, I didn't know what you would do with the information' she says back with a slight sassy tone to her voice. "I have a feeling that might not be correct either, anyways you should be getting to bed, you have an early start tomorrow" josh says "yes alpha" I reply as I turn off my game, I head to my room and decide to go to sleep.
