Recap: Later I checked in on Prince and he looked fine but then something strange happened.
Wanda POV
Prince spoke for the first time!
"Wanda I wanna go home."
"You just spoke!"
"You understand me now?"
"Perfectly, but I'm afraid that you can't go back yet."
"I have to go back the beta male can't hold leadership forever. I need to lead my pack as their alpha!"
"You're the alpha? Then why were you so easily captured?"
"You humans, if you didn't come into my territory then we wouldn't have to venture out into another's. You're the ones who threw off the hunt. I was too scared and I had to find out what you were."
"I'm sorry Prince but you're not the only one trapped here."
"You're trapped by that Andrew person correct?"
"Yes that's right he is my employer. That means that I work for him and only he can let me and you go."
"*Growl* that man sickens me with his scent. He has not right to keep you here nor me for that matter."
"Sorry Prince but you can't make those kinds of decisions. There is something you can do though."
"What's that?"
"You can learn what I'm teaching you and never speak in front of Andrew. You can fool him into thinking that his formula can only affect you learning and not speaking."
"Will it be that easy to trick him?"
"Sure only you have to be a good actor."
"What's an actor?"
"Someone that can do something else to fool everyone into thinking that it's real."
"Very well then but I have one condition."
"What... Never mind he's back we'll discuss this another time ok?"
"*Groan*"
"Well is the subject speaking?"
"Prince speak!"
"*Woof*"
"I see then tomorrow another dose of formula."
"Just don't give him too much of that stuff. He may get a tumor or worse go berserk."
"Then we'll get another patient. Do I have to keep telling you that these animals are of no expense? Get a grip on reality girl!"
"*Growl*"
"Prince if you do that to me one more time then I'll put you to sleep."
"You can't!"
"I can and I will. I need this to work then we'll try to turn them into humans next."
As soon as he left, I really felt threatened.
Prince POV
"What did he mean by that?"
"To be put to sleep is when you sleep and never wake up from it. You die if he does that to you."
"I don't want to die! I haven't even had a mate yet."
"You've never had a mate?"
"No, none of the females were good enough for me. All they did was laze about instead of hunting or keeping watch."
"Were any of them taken?"
"Yes and I never did betray those that did. Now I have a question for you."
"Name it."
"Have you ever had a mate?"
"What makes you ask?"
"Just answer."
"No I never had a mate. The reason why is the same as yours except in different ways."
"That man is coming back. If he makes a move at you I'll protect you so long as you do the same for me."
"Deal."
"Wanda! Check on the cardiac patients and the internal scans. We are going to be behind schedule if you don't hurry."
"Coming, bye Prince."
This human world is one I'll never understand. One thing is for sure though, I'll have Wanda explain it to me."
