Today is the day. The day i leave Tennessee to move to Ohio. The day I end one chapter and begin a new one. I'm not even sad that i'm leaving Tennessee. I hate it with a firey passion. My dad's job requires us to move a lot, so i am pretty much used to it. I look around the room, making sure i got everything, and took my last box downstairs. "Lexi!" I hear my my yell from outside. I take the box outside to her. "You read my mind. Are you ready to go?" she asks. I look back at the house where I had lived for 3 years. The memories instantly flooding through my mind. "Yeah, let's go," I said. I hop in the car and get comfortable. Shoes off. Ear buds in. Blanket on. And then we were off.
I must have fallen asleep somewhere in Kentucky because when i woke up we were crossing the Ohio line. Of course it would be on a bridge. I HATE bridges, almost as much as i hate Tennessee. "Dad, where exactly are we going?' I asked. "Clermont County," he replied. Having no clue where that was, i sat back in my seat going back to sleep. "
"Lexi! Wake up! We're here!" I hear my mom yelling. I look at the house. It's a two-story, brick house. It looks very interesting. I look to my right and see a house about the same size as ours and in the back yard there was a tree house. "Great, little kids." i say to myslef. To the left was a smaller house that didn't have anything that stood out. Displeased with what appeared to be boring neighbors, i went inside.
I went upstairs. My dad had told my my bedroom was the room on the right. Okay. I walked in. It was a purple room with a window seat. Ever since i was 10 i wanted a window seat. I screamed from excitement. Yes, im 17, but i still have to let my inner child out sometimes. I ran downstarirs to hug my father, but he was talking to the family next door. "Lexi, come over here and meet Brooke!" my dad yelled from the neighbor's front porch. I walk over there. "Hey! My name is Brooke! You must be Lexi!" she says. Oh lord. She seemed so annoying. "Yeah, its nice to meet you!" I say back. Then her father and my father start talking about pointless things such as the nearest golf course. Brook steps aside and says "Fathers are so annoying. But your father said you were 17! So am I. There are tons of teenagers our age in this neighborhood!"
"Really? Because next door to me it seems like a 10 year old lives there."
"Well an 11 year old actually. But he has a 17 year old brother named Dylan. Then directly across the street is Alex, who is also 17. Alex is my boyfriend. All 3 of us are hanging out tomorrow at the mall, would you like to come?"
"Sure, it sounds like fun!"
We exchanged numbers then i left. I go upstairs and start unpacking looking out my window frequently to try to see who "Dylan" is. He must not come out a lot. Then again, it is a Thursday. He might play sports or have practice or something. I finished unpacking and took a shower. Then i go to sit at my window seat. I noticed the window on the side of the house closest to me was open. I couldnt really see anything, but i had already taken my contacts out so I couldn't see well. I go to lay down in my bed, not knowing that my whole world it about to change. For the better.
