I stared at my nearly empty room. I wouldn't see this room again untill I come home from Christmas. It was only 6 months away, but it felt like 6 years. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, but I didn't turn around to see who it was. I felt arms go around my waist and the familiar scent of Bod lingered thorugh the air. I knew it was Dylan. I laid my head back on his shoulder and looked at his beautiful blue eyes.
"I'm not ready to leave," I said in a whisper.
"I'm not ready for you to leaver either."
He didn't live to far from the college he was going to, so he stayed at home.
"But I promise I will come visit you every time I'm in Nashville."
"I would love that."
He turned me around and kissed my forehead, "I love you, Lexie."
"I love you."
He picked up my last bag and took it to my car. Outside, I gave my parents a big hug and said goodbye one last time. Then came the hardest part, saying bye to Dylan. I gave him one last hug and we both stood there, neither one of us letting go. He patted my back.
"......I'm gonna be okay," I said, unsure of everything.
"Of course you are, you're strong."
We finally let go. I got in my car, fighting back the tears. As I drove off, I turned and looked at Dylan. The smile on his face fading. He stayed so strong for me. Also, one of the many reasons I love him.
I was tugging at my bags that were in the trunk of my car, A guy walking by could tell that I was struggling, so he pulled them out for me.
"Thanks, I'm Lexie by the way."
"Matt," he said while extending his hand to shake mine.
"So you're new here?" he asks.
"Is it that obvious? I'm pretty much clueless as to where I'm going."
"Here, let me help you." He grabbed the papers that were sitting on one of my bags.
"Thanks."
He grabbed a few of my bags and told me to follow him, so I did. He led me to my dorm. I noticed someone else's stuff on the opposite side of the room.
"Do you know who my roomate is?"
"Some chick from Georgia."
"I have friends from there, but I doubt it's her."
Matt gave me his number and told me to call him if I needed anything else. I wasn't attracted to him at all. I had a boyfriend, and I would never do anything to hurt Dylan. I started unpacking my bags and somebody walked in the room. I turned around to see who it was.
"Hey roomate!" she exclaims with a smile.
"BRANDY!"
I basically tackled her. I was so relieved to have her as a roomate.
"I didn't know you were gonna go here," I said.
"I wanted to tell you so bad! But Dylan wanted to keep it a surprise."
"Ah! I'm just so glad you're here."
We unpacked most of our thingsand talked. We had a lot to cathc up on. After an hour or so, my phone began to ring. It was Dylan.
"Dylan! Hey!"
"Hey beutiful, do you like your roomate?"
"Yes! I can't belive you didn't tell me!"
"I wanted it to be a surprise!"
"I guess I'm not mad," I said with a laugh.
"I miss your beautiful eyes already."
"I miss you more."
I heard Ed's voice in the background.
"Hey Lexie, I have to go help my dad, but I promise to call you back later."
"Okay, I love you."
"I love you more."
I walked over to one of my bags that still had a few things in it. I picked up a picture frame. It held the picture of Dylan and I after graduation. I held it close to my heart, remembering that day. I set it down on the table beside my bed. Even though I missed Ohio like crazy, I thought I was gonna like it here.
