After eating my ham and tomato sandwich in the canteen, I head of to go out front. The front yard has grass up the top but me and my mates stay on the concrete to play football. After 20 minutes the half time bell rings and shortly afterwards Jade, Lucy and a few other friends come out. I try to catch Jade's eye by playing around where she is and basically just skilling the others. Lucy and Jade normally walk around the yard. They talk to Jimmy, Kian, Richard and Ian. Gemma normally speaks to Kian, we all think that she likes him but she denies it every time the girls ask her.
"Jade look out!" I shout but it was to late. The football we were playing with hit her on the head and she fell to the ground. I start to walk towards her but Charley stops me. Instead I look around to try and find Carlo, the boy who kicked it. I find him kneeling down next to Jade. She has woken up know and looks really confused.
"Hey Jade, sorry for hitting you with the football." Carlo's apology sounds real enough for me. I jog over and check to see if she's okay.
"It's alright Carlo, it's not your fault that you can't aim." Jade's comeback is good but short lived. "I'm sorry Carlo, I just had to say it was too tempting. But aside from that, apology accepted," a smile came across her face and Carlo left. None of the other boys were there so I helped her up, along with Lucy."Hey can I talk to Jade in private?" That wasn't me asking though, it was Owain Drake. Lucy left Jade with us, and now it was just a stare down between me and Owain.
"When you two are done having a stare down, I'll be sitting down by the fence if you want me." Jade slides down the fence around a meter away and Owain starts talking.
"I'm thinking of asking Jade if she will be my girlfriend. I wonder what her answer will be." His smirk grows bigger as I grow angrier. "I'll just go ask her right now and hope for the best, we both know of her huge crush on me." He emphasises the word huge and starts to walk of when I grab his arm and stop him.
"What would I care, she's yours for the taking," I mentally kick myself for saying this but I have to make sure that Owain thinks I don't like her that way. He ignores me and walks over to Jade.
"Hey Mike!" I hear that annoying voice that never leaves my side. "That was very good of you to help Jade like that. Um... If I were to faint, would you catch me?" She's trying hard to be seductive but she is failing terribly.
"Honestly Macey... no not really," her smile goes when I say this and she stomps off to where Jade is. I watch Macey as she starts complaining about how inconsiderate I am and how mean I am to her. Jade doesn't really care and just sits there while Owain tells Macey to go away. The bell rings and that means we have art. Thank god Owain isn't in our class otherwise I swear I would have killed him.
When we are standing in line I go and talk to Jade.
"What did Owain want?" I try not to be rude.
"He asked if I would be his girlfriend, I told him that I'll give him an answer at the end of the day."
"What are you gonna say?"
"I don't know. My heart and mind say no but there is a little voice at the back of my head saying 'give him a chance'. But I'm not sure"
"What would your answer be if it were me who asked you out?"
"I would say maybe." She turned her back on me and I mentally high five myself and don't talk for the rest of art.
