Chapter 8

Me and Kaeden walked out of the school and over to the park down the road. We were meeting up with Carlos, Ezra, Leo and Casey. It had been a while since we all were together, in the same space, without adults stopping them from killing Kaeden...

Bad idea to bring Kaeden to a group of boys that hate his guts.

Well done michael you basically just killed kaeden.

We arrive at the park at 5 pm. I feel Casey pull me to my left as I watch Carlos and Leo both tackle Kaeden to the ground with a loud thump. I grab Carlos' elbow just before he punches him on the nose and signal to the other boys to hold him back. I kneel down next to Kaeden and check for any injuries.

"Well that hurt more than I expected." He groans out as he sits up properly and holds his shoulder, rubbing it.

"Why is he here?!" Carlos and Leo shout in unison.

"He's here because I invited him. Is that okay?" I ask calmly as I know what his answer is gonna be.

"Well he told the one person you hate with an untameable flame, not just your secrets, but mine and Leo's too!" He yells and you can see the betrayal in his eyes as he talks about his ex-bestfriend. I sigh and look at the grass on the ground beneath us.

"Honestly, he just put up with my AMAZING way of getting out of trouble," I say and do quotation marks with my fingers when I say amazing." So I think he deserves a chance. And who knows, maybe he will finally tell us his side of the argument?" I turn to face Kaeden as I ask the question, raising my left eyebrow.

The boys all looked at Kaeden expectingly and he just sighed.
"Let's go sit down on the bench?" He offers and me, Carlos, Ezra, Leo and Casey start walking over there, Kaeden slowly but surely making his way to the bench a metres away.

We sat on the bench as me on the end, on my right, Kaeden, on the other side of him was Ezra. Opposite me was Leo, next to him was Carlos, and opposite Ezra was Casey.

No one spoke a word until Casey asked the question everyone wanted to.
"Soooooo, what happened exactly," he said leaning forward on his elbows.

"Well I take it you both have no clue about any of this?" He asked directing his question to Casey and Ezra.

"Not a clue," Casey confirmed.

Kaeden sighed and started playing with his hands, not looking up.

"Back in primary, it was me, Carlos, Mike and Leo. We were the naughtiest kids out of the whole school, and it just kept getting worse and worse as we got older. When we first came to Bryntawe, we all made a pact to stay out of trouble until we new everything thats going on. One of us broke that pact for a girl he had no chance with. He even abandoned his friends to go hang out with someone he had nothing in common with, just to get the girl's attention. He told this boy everything he knew about everyone but hid one fact - they all used to be best friends." Kaeden sighs and looks up to see my eyes are stone cold. Everyone was looking at him with such disgust and hurt apart from Ezra, who never showed any emotion anyway.

We all sat there silently just staring at Kaeden. "I'll go now, I'm sorry I told him everything. I'm sorry that I ruined our friendship. I'm just gonna go now. Have a nice weekend. See ya." He waves goodbye and walks home. We all sit there silently not wanting to talk. Carlos looks like he's going to explode at any second, Leo just looks hurt, Casey's just sitting there speechless and Ezra as always has no emotion playing on his face. I get up to leave but Carlos grabs my hand,
"I never new that was the reason he left..." he trails off.

All of a sudden I feel arms wrap around me and hear a voice.
"Heeeyyyyy boys! What you doin'?" Macey says to us five. Her two minions, Melody and Jane, walk up and sit close to the boys. They all stand up in sync and say goodbye and start walking away. I move her hands away and start walking towards the exact with the guys.

I arrive home and head strait to bed and lay there with my face on the pillows. I check my phone to see that it is loaded up with texts from Jade and I can't help but smile. I reply to all her texts, put my phone on charge, change into my pyjamas and go to sleep.
