Chapter 6

Monday morning
I wake up to the sound of the alarm an my phone. I can hear the sound of the radio coming from downstairs. The tune is quite catchy and I find myself humming along with it. I walk over to the bathroom and do my business. I do the necessary things and go back to my room and get dressed into my black, ripped jeans with a silver chain clipped onto my left side. I wore my dark blue adidas hoodie over a white, plain, short sleeved

When bell rings I start walking off in the complete opposite direction of our first class.
"Hey Mike! Where are you going?" Jade calls out before I go through the door.
"I got detention for three days." I answered her after turning around and smiling.

School passes by really slow. I wonder why?
Is it because I'm stuck in detention?
Probably.
Is it because I can't play pranks on my fellow students?
Maybe.
Or is it because I miss Jade?

Gareth joined our school today but I never saw him properly. I was sent out of detention when bell went signalling dinner time. My belly was made a weird noise when that bell went. I was walking into the canteen when I stopped to see Gareth with his arm around Jade. I felt betrayed by him but then a bit of relief when she picked up his sleeve and put it down by his side. Before he could say anything, I cut in.

"Dude what's wrong?" Gareth asks worriedly.

"Are you interested in that girl you had your arm around?" I clench my jaw at the end of the sentence.
"Yea I mean, she is cute." He looks into my eyes which are most probably staring black holes into him. "But if you want her, I'll back off mate." His voice got a bit shaky at the end. I felt really bad for being so selfish.
"I'm sorry Gareth. It's just that... I really really really like Jade and the thought of her going out with someone else kills me." I look at the ground and start shuffling my feet. My hand goes through my hair out of habit.
"C'mon Mike, lets get back to the others."

We were all siting down on the floor outside when Macey and her group of friends come up to us. Well it is more like a trio then a group. Macey sits uncomfortably close and wraps her arm around mine. I pull myself free and shuffle closer to Jade who was on my right. I look at Jade and mouth the words 'help me.' Jade smiles and leans forward to see Macey.

"Hey Macey I've got some bad news." Jade puts on a sad face and pats Macey's arm. "I think you just got rejected by Michael because he obviously does not like you." She sits back down since she had lean across. Macey just stares at her with a look of disbelief and walks of without her little minions because Jane is flirting with Gareth and Melody is flirting with Leo. The boys are obviously uncomfortable interested and point out where Macey is. The girls bolt towards they're 'o so amazing leader' leaving the boys. I get a text from someone and check my phone.

I cover my phone from Jade and glare at Gareth who has a smirk plastered on.

I go back to detention when bell rings signalling 5th lesson. Gareth is in our class so he goes with Jade and her friends. Faith, another one of the Jade's friends, has Leo's arm around her shoulder pulling her in closer. They have been going out now for about 3 months now and they still look at each other with sparkles in their eyes. Gareth puts his arm around Jade which scares the life out of her. To get her revenge she pulls Lucy over, lifts Gareth's arm up to put it over Lucy's shoulders. The two of them blush and Gareth looks at the floor nervously. This earns a smirk on my face and a slight chuckle. Jade turns around and walks back me.

"How did you know that they liked each other?" I asked as we walked side by side. Our next class is a few doors from the room where detention is held so I walk with Jade until we head our seperate ways.

"Well you see Lucy told me during one of our classes that she likes him and Gareth keeps on looking at Lucy whilst she's not looking." She answered as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

I never saw Jade after we parted ways. Gareth and I met up after school since he lived a few houses down from me. He told me everything that went on when I wasn't there. We said our goodbyes and I went into my house. I fell asleep with Jade on my mind... again.

Sorry it was late I've just been busy with Christmas and seeing my older sister who came back from Bristol.
