"Finnick......" I say as a whisper, and than I add it again in a question, louder. "Oh this is incredible! District 4's tributes are Lillian Trescott and Finnick Odair! Now, shake hands you two!" The lady brightly says. I look at Finnick and see a flashback of our past. He holds his hand out and I shake it. We then leave fo say goodbye to our loved ones.
"Jed, it's ok." I say as my family walks in the door to say goodbye to me. "Lily...Give Finnick a thank you for me. He risked his life for me. I know you both can survive in the games together!" He says. "Ya! We agree too!" Louisa and Pam both say together, holding eachothers hands. "Come here guys. I love you. Be careful, be safe, don't go anywhere unsupervised from mother ok?" I say and we all have a group hug, while Mother stays behind. "Lillian..." She says. Tears are streaming down her eyes and I walk up to her. "That was....so brave of you...please, I can't have you dead like you're older brother. I can't. Just please....try and......come home.." She says, and breaks down crying in my arms. "I love you Mother, it's ok. Don't worry I promise it's ok."
"Times up. Let's go." A peacekeeper barges in the door and grabs mother, Louisa, and Jed with Pam clinger to me. "No! Please, don't leave like Austin! We love you! Please.. You can't!" She yells and weeps as she is dragged right out the door. But before she left with the rest of them, I managed to yell "I promise, ok?" Now tears are starting to stream down my eyes. This could've been the last time I've ever seen my family.
"Now! I am Lorain and you will love the capital!" Lorain begins bla bla bla . I'm so overwhelmed by how many riches the Capitol has. How fancy it is compared to District 4, and how amazing and incredible it is. "Well hello! You two are very brave to volunteer, very! I am Maggs, you're mentor. One thing I have to say, is you two should definently become allies. Since you are from the same district." She gives us a bright smile, until she sees how uncomftrable Finnick and I are with eachother. "Lily Pad, I think that's a fine idea." He says and puts his hand out. I do nothing but grimace at him. No way am I going to shake his hand and no way is he calling me that. "Do not. Call me. That. Odair." I say. He gives me an annoyed look and walks away. As I do the same. Maggs takes a deep sigh and says "Oh dear......"
"Now, Finnick, Lillian, be polite! Lillian, Finnick saved your brothers life. You should be thankful!" Lorain exclaims. "Excuse me..? I didn't expect Odair to do that. Ever....and I'm very thankful.." I say. Finnick rolls his eyes at this and the whole rest of the train ride, we watch the other reapings of the children and talk wih Maggs. Finnick and I stay very distant ways from eachother. "District 1, Cato and Clove, both careers, very deathly. District 2, Marvel and Glimmer. Both deathly and careers." She says. And keeps talking more about the tributes that have been reaped and the districts. "Maggs, what's a career?" I ask. "Ahhhh. The careers. They're very deathly, they trai in an academy for the games growing up until they're ready to volunteer."
"Sounds like a bit of an advantage don't ya think.......?" Finnick says.
"Finnick, you're good with a trident and a sword, shut up. I can't do anythig..." I quietly say. "Oh don't worry Lily, I bet you'll find your skill in something. Definently training! That begins tomorrow!" Maggs says and pats me on the back. "Thanks, Maggs." I say and give her a warm smile. She's a nice lady thats for sure. "Now..tell me a bit about these games...what have I got into?" I ask.
