Part 2 - The games begin!

Chapter 12, The Games Begin

Maggs is with me going towards the hovercraft that leads us all to the games, where our stylists will be.

"Lillian. Lorain and I think you can do this. You can. You and Finnick. Good luck Lily, you will never be forgotten." I give Maggs a big hug, and say "thank you for everything." I then walk over to the hovercraft. Siting next to Cato.... Great... "Give me your arm." A lady comes up to me and injects something in my arm. "What is that?" I ask. "Your tracker" she replies. This is going to be scary...

I get dropped of and led by peace keepers to Dustin. He gives me a wide open hug and puts on my jacket for me. "Lillian, I know you can do this. Because you can. Good luck." Dustin says and pats me on the back as a voice says "10 seconds". I get inside the tube and turn around when it fully shuts. Dustin gives me a nod of approval saying I can do this. We all look at the timer, everone getting ready to aim for the cornucopia, with many weapons. It's a bloodbath. And I am not getting into it. I look over and see Finnick, I shake my head at him but he isn't paying attention. Oh ya, I forgot. He's a career. But I need something. That black backpack, I will get. Along with some pairs of knifes on the side of a box. I stare at the countdown, ready for the fight.

I simply see everyone running toward the cornicopia, Finnick and Cato meet up and get some weapons and start killin people. More Cato, less Finnick. All I do is stand there, dumbfounded. Everyone getting killed, blood flying everywhere. I then see the the knives on the ground next to a backpack, and take off at it. "Get her!" I hear someone yell behind me. It's Glimmer's voice, throwing bows and arrows at me. I dodge every single one of them, get the backpack on me and pick up some knifes. I'm about to throw one at Glimmer as she loads her arrows, but hear Sakhaia's scream.

No.

I run over to her, and throw a knife at a district 6 boy. He goes down. I quickly get Sakhaia and run into the woods. Fast as I can. With arrows still shooting at me, until I am at least a mile away from them. That's when I turn aroun and see Finnick with them , negotiating. Ugh, Finnick, I thought we were suppost to be allies...... He's still with the careers though. "Come on!" Sakhaia and I run a bit more until we reach a hill and slide down it, avoiding any people we see. "Sakhaia! Where are you?!" I yell, fearing that I've already lost her.

"Shhh!!!!! Up here!" She says. I look up and find her sitting in a tree. I was never to good at climbing trees. How in the hell am I going to get up there..... "well.. It's worth trying.." I say and climb up. Huh, I'm actually climbing a tree. Right when I get up and sit down next to Sakhaia, we hear cannons go off. Anonymously.

"I counted 13." I say. She nods.

"Let's see what we have here..." I say and open up my backpack to see what I have. "A water tin!" Sakhaia exclaims but when she sees there's no water in it, her face drops a bit. "Don't worry, we'll find water. I have a rope, and a couple of knives. Good. "What did you get, Sakhaia?" I ask. She just holds up one knife she probably found on the ground. "Here," I give her two of my knifes, ans start climbing down the tree. "We need water, so let's walk a little more." I tell her. She nods again in agreement and I can see she's completely traumatized, but who wouldn't be after that.

When she gets down she gives me a big hug. "Thank you, Lily..." She says.

"It's ok, Sakhaia...don't worry, it's ok..I'll protect you from anyone like that who would ever come after you like that again, ok?" I comfort her as we walk, her hand in mine.

After what seems like a long time, we finally find a mini water hole, and take some sips, while filling up my can.

"It's getting dark...I am a bit hungry, how about you?" She asks. "Yes, we should get somethig....." I say. We walk around a bit more until Sakhaia finds a good tree for us to spend the night in. When were siting in the tree, Sakhaia is looking for birds for me to aim at. It'd hard though cause it's a bit dark. "There!" She points at one. Right when I am abou to aim at it, it gets shot already. Sakhaia almost gasps loudly butihold her mouth and try to stay camouflage in the tree. I look down abit and see who it is. A boy from district 5 I believe. Sakhaia picks up a knife and tries to aim at him, but she misses. Completely. The boy looks up a bit, suspecting some sort of movement. Then he starts climbing a tree.
