Misunderstandings

Jerri and I have already rounded up ten of our classmates. Two more were found and sent here in the auditorium by Lilac, which totals twelve, then add the three of us, which completes fifteen.

So where is Lilac?

“What’s wrong, Chris?” Jerri asked.

I shrugged. “I don’t know, maybe that the city is overrun by a bunch of zombies, we just saw our teacher die, I almost got chased by the guy who killed our teacher, I have no idea where my parents or my brother is and of course, let’s not forget that we’re stuck inside Kammer Academy. And where the hell is Lilac Ride?”

“Chill, dude.”

My head whipped to where my rust-haired, green-eyed, stoic and cold leprechaun of a friend was standing.

“Did you just say chill?” I asked.

“Yes,” Jerri deadpanned.

“Oh well,” I sighed, “I guess I haven’t seen enough unusual events today. But seriously, where the hell is Lilac? She should be back by now.”

“Don’t worry, Chris,” Jerri assured with a pat on my shoulder, “Lilac can handle herself.”

Yes, I thought, she definitely could.

Moments later, the auditorium door opened, and Lilac came in.

With a small girl with jet black hair like mine.

And that girl had different eye colors.

Ugh, what is wrong with the world?

Wait, that was badly worded—what is up with today? So many strange things.

“Chris!” Lilac called out, “Jerri!”

“Hey Lie,” I answered, “Where have you been? Why is there a kid with you?”

“I found her near in the kindergarten hall,” she answered. “Is everyone here?”

“Yeah, except you.” I mumbled.

“Well, I’m here now, genius. Are they alright?” She just said.

“We think so,” Jerri answered. “But I’m sure they’re still panicked. They’re confused, Lilac.”

“They definitely want an explanation, and we’ve figured that you’re the one who knows most about this situation,” I said. “So anyway, what’s her name?”
