"oh, no! it's fine! i can handle this. you've had a long day. you should get some rest!" jaebum said, smiling-- trying to mask the tired look on his face.

jieun grabbed a rag and began wiping down tables. "you've had an even longer day. this is the least i can do."

jaebum's eyes softened. "if you insist. thank you."

the two cleaned in a comfortable silence. jaebum was constantly walking in and out of the kitchen with clean pans and dirty table cloths while jieun worked on sweeping the floors, wiping down tabletops, and refilling the napkin tins.

after one last polish, she admired all her hard work and sat down at one of the booths, exhausted but trying not to show it in front of jaebum.

"here."

she looked up and was met with a plate full of food: pastries, sandwiches, muffins, everything.

"what's this for?" she asked.

jaebum shrugged. "we had leftovers and i didn't have the heart to throw them out, so i decided to feed the starving cinderella over here." he sat in front of her and put down two warm drinks-- presumably coffee.

"thank you. you should eat some, too." jieun said, taking a muffin and pushing the tray closer to jaebum.

the two ate in silence, and jieun suddenly found herself feeling very content with her evening.
