"tae, what do i do?" jieun rambled. "he thinks she's me-- that's not right! he's remembering the wrong things! tae, what if they fall in love? where's that going to leave me? tae--"

taehyung gently grabbed jieun's shoulders and sat her on her couch. they had both gone home after a long day of work-- taehyung having had to transform into different forms of people every couple of hours to seem less suspicious.

"jieun, take a deep breath. we're not going to get anywhere if you keep freaking out." he reasoned.

"but how else am i supposed to act? the love of my life is falling in love with another woman right before my eyes and you expect me to act calm?"  jieun shouted, close to tears.

she ducked her head down, avoiding taehyung's gaze.

"i'm sorry for shouting at you. you didn't deserve that."

taehyung moved the hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "it's okay. it's understandable."

"but..." jieun stopped. "...what can we do?"

"i don't think we can do anything," taehyung said, wiping away a tear that slid down her cheek. "my powers were taken away after what happened last time. i can only transform because of privacy purposes." tae scratched his cheek. "and pd nim is still a little mad at me."

jieun sighed. "so... what you're saying is that we can only watch history repeat itself?"

he nodded, dejectedly. "i'm sorry."

jieun smiled. "it's not your fault. it's getting late. you should be heading home now."

"are you sure? i could stay a little longer."

jieun looked him in the eyes, and through the thin film of tears coating her eyes, taehyung knew she wanted to be alone.

"i'll be leaving then." he said, getting off the couch and heading towards the door. "good night, ji ji."

"good night, tae tae."
