"good morning, ahjussi!"

jaebum greeted the old man with a smile on his face as he walked through the glass doors of the establishment.

"here to see jieun again?" he asked.

the man nodded. "it's like you can read my mind."

taehyung had a sad expression on his face as he looked at jieun's red, puffy eyes from across their shared table.

"why did you cry?" he asked, softly touching jieun's cheek with his old, wrinkled finger.

jieun mentally cursed her concealer applying abilities as she didn't have enough knowledge in the makeup world to know how to properly hide her red and dark eye bags.

"it's nothing."

"if it's jungkook related, it's not simply nothing." he pointed out.

jieun sighed and stared out the window.

"speaking of 'kook," taehyung started, "he came home really late last night. and he was mumbling things to himself. honestly it was kind of frightening. i thought he was possessed or something."

last night... jieun's mind wandered back to her conversation with soyeon.

"...are our situations connected?" taehyung asked.

jieun opened her mouth to speak when she was interrupted. 

"welcome!" jaebum's voice rang through the building.

jieun's eyes wandered to the counter where she suddenly stopped breathing as time stood still.

...jungkook?

he was dawned in his usual all black attire with a white t-shirt and timberlands. he tried fixing his hair as for it was a messy mop on his head, and jieun couldn't find anything else in the world more attractive.

"what can i get you?" jaebum didn't seem to notice whose order he was currently taking. he was never really into the entire kpop industry.

well, jieun wasn't either. not until she met jungkook at 3:43 in the morning.

a simple americano with two scoops of sugar. iced, but not too cold or too hot. jieun ran the order she had made for him countless times in the past over and over in her head.

she watched as he handed jaebum his credit card with his masculine fingers that used to fit perfectly intwined with hers.

"an americano, please."
