"ah!"

jungkook awoke with a scream, startling the figure sleeping under him. his body was covered in sweat as he tried to calm his shaking body.

"hey, you okay?" namjoon asked, getting out from under his bunk bed and climbing up the ladder to reach the shaking figure above him. "you've been having these nightmares a lot lately, huh?" he said, affectionately patting the younger's back in attempt to sooth him.

"yeah," jungkook mumbled, rubbing his face with his hands. "it's not really a nightmare, though." he whispered. "but it's still... scary."

"wanna talk about it?"

jungkook nodded and sighed.

"the setting's always different in every dream, but there's always this girl in the distance and no matter how much i run after her or how loudly i scream, she never turns around, and she seems to be getting further and further away from me--" jungkook paused and took a deep breath. "i just... i just want to see her face."

namjoon sighed. "sounds like a tough one. you want a glass of water or anything?"

"no, it's okay. thank you though, hyung. for listening."

"anytime. try to get some rest. it's still early and we have to be up in a few hours."

"okay. goodnight."

both soon went back to sleep, jungkook praying his best to not experience that dream again.

unbeknownst to them, a figure stood by the duo's bedroom door and heard their conversation.

"ha..." taehyung sighed, running his hands through his hair.

"this wasn't supposed to happen."
