Chapter 7 - Painful Business

"...I love you Chloe."

You know what was going through my mind as he said those words? All the bad words that I know.

I glare at him and say "Excuse me?" as I walk towards him.

He starts to panick as I get closer. He stutters "I...I...Chloe."

"What? Were you expecting me to go running happily towards you?" I say looking deeply into his eyes which once made me melt.

"But.." he starts "...but you were supposed to be mine!" he backfired.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I growl.

"I like you! Okay? Can't you just be happy? I know you like me too!"

Are you kidding me?

"You were supposed to be mine! Until that good-for-nothing sonofagun Jeremy started taking interest in you!"

And just when I was about to lose my temper, Clareece came out of the house and came closer to Jake.

Clareece smirked at me and kissed Jake as if it meant the whole world to me. I watched in disgust and as they were finally done. Chloe glares "Can't we have a little privacy?"

"You bitches deserve each other." I spat out the words.

Jake looked hurt but I didn't give a crap, "Oh and by the way, I don't date jerks like you." and walked away. Total Win.

And to think, I was such a lovely girl.

Hey, it wasn't my totally fault! They were the ones getting on my nerves!

As I reached Annie's house, Chad had that posture were he had been waiting for quite a while and his patience was growing thin. And as for Annie, she was tapping her Prada shoes on the ground like crazy. As I half sprinted to them with an apologetic look they sighed and said "What took you so long?" with soo much synchronization I burst out laughing.

"Jinxs!" they both said at the same time which made us all laugh.

"C'mon." Annie said as she gestured to Chad's car " We're gonna be late for school."

During the whole ride, which I predicted, I was the third wheel. (Obviously!) So I got my ear phones and started jamming to Lana Del Rey's profoundly spectacular work of art.

As we reached school, I thanked them and went to my locker to get my stuff. On the first period, Chad and Annie were having AP Euro while I was having AP American Lit. On Tuesdays, the only class that Annie and I both go to is Speech and Debate which was the Third Period. We bothed hated it so we would always sit beside each other and make fun of Mr. Dylan's hair.

As we wearily endured the boring classes, the bell rang indicating that Lunch has just begun. I sprinted to the cafeteria and to our usual table. As I was closing in, I could see a Annie and Chad sitting in the direction were I could see their faces a familiar guy who was facing the other way and I couldn't quite tell who it was. He had blonde messy hair that looks like he woke up and didn't make the effort to look decent.

I mouthed to Annie and Chad 'Who is he?' and pointed at the mystery guy. Chad and Annie looked panick and gestured me to go away. I was confused and the mystery man had noticed the couple gesturing at me and he turned back.

As I saw his face my mouth dropped. I covered my mouth with my hand, a gesture indicating I was shocked. It was him. My first love, my first everything. My ex-boyfriend, he was the reason why I had trust issues with boys.
