Chapter 2 - Unreasonable Universe

"What the hell Clareece?!"

I say to her with anger and disappointment written all over my face.

"What are you talking about?" she asks in an annoyed tone.

"Don't play dumb with me" I roll my eyes.

"Jeremy Ryder." I look to her and raise my brows. She's looking uneasy and nervous.

"Are you seriously in a relationship with him?" I glare at her as she takes a deep sigh.

"So what if I am?"

I shivered at the thought.

"Do you know what he's capable of?"

"I don't owe you any confessions.."

"Just don't mess with Jeremy Ryder" I say with a stern look.

"God! Stop messing with my life just because you don't have one!" she screams as she ran to her room.

I just couldn't shake the thought. I kept on tossing and turning, I barely slept. Damn you Jeremy Ryder.

I had to know if they had some sort of connection. As far as I know, Clareece never talked about Jeremy and last year, when we were still close and wasn't popular, she actually hated him. But this year, when she became a cheerleader and when I happen to mess things up with Clareece, she never ever spoke to me again.

I looked at the clock hung up on my wall, it was 5:00 am. I got my phone and started calling Annie.

Annie Woolbright is my best friend, she has blue eyes and blonde hair and is a little taller than I am. She is gorgeous but she never admits it.

We became best friends last year when she stood up for me when a group of jocks pushed me which made me fall to my butt. Ouch.

"Go pick on someone your own size!" Annie said to the jocks and smiled at me. She helped me up and we became best friends ever since.

*rings*

'Helloo, Annie here.'

'Annie! I have to tell you something important. Meet me at Claire's Càfe.'

'Okaaaay Chiao.'

'Byeee'

-End Call-

20 minutes later

"Hi! What can I get ya ladies?"

"I'll have a mocha latte and a strawberry shortcake, how about you Chloe?"

"I'll have a toffee nut latte and a Oreo cheesecake."

As I watched the waiter skitter away, I looked at Annie with a sad expression plastered on my face.

"What's the matter?" Annie asked.

I sighed and told Annie everything and when I was done Annie looked straight at me with a serious face.

"What?" I asked.

"Why do you want to know what's going on between them?"

"Cause she's my sister!" I say.

"But why do you care so much about her? She doesn't deserve all that. She treats you like shit."

I knew Annie was right. Why the hell do I care?

She chuckled. "It's like your the older one sometimes."

I couldn't help but laugh, it was true actually.

When I stopped laughing, I noticed Annie looking at me. She had an evil smile plastered on her face.

"What?" I was curious to know what she was thinking.

"So..." she raised her eyebrow and her smile grew bigger.

"...any thoughts on sharing your cheesecake?"

I burst out laughing upon hearing those words. Annie's the best I thought.

We chatted for awhile and forgot all about Clareece. Then Annie left first because Chad Davidson, her handsome boyfriend, came to pick her up for their date.

So there I was, alone in the cafe eating my Oreo Cheesecake. When I looked to the direction of the door, my face scrunched up because of what I saw. Jeremy Ryder.
