Jia's POV:
The bell rang and I lifted my head from the table.
"Done crying? His funeral was yesterday, you can't still be sad." Yeoreum made a pouty face at me, before dragging her new boyfriend out of the classroom.
Sighing, I looked around the classroom, which was getting emptier, until my eyes landed on the Chinese boy. Burrowing my sadness inside me, I lifted myself from the chair and made my way towards him.
"Come on." With all of my strength, I tried to drag Chenle up from his seat, but he didn't budge at all, which made me sigh and I leaned my head against his shoulder.
"You have to get to practice and the bell just rang. If the teachers find us, they'll kick us out." I tried to explain to him, only making him shrug and he wrapped me in a hug.
"Then let them do that."
"Chenle." He grumbled something under his breath, before standing up and I smiled. Starting to walk, I made my way out of the school with Chenle following right behind. The halls were empty and quiet, which was an unusual sight for me, since I never really stayed this late at school.
"Do you like, think, that the teachers live here?" He asked randomly with the hint of a smile on his lips and I laughed, making a small smile break out on his face, before I shrugged.
"I kinda think they do and kinda think they don't." This made him nod and soon we were only a few minutes from the SM building. The last few minutes were quiet, but not in an awkward way, maybe it was because both of us had needed the silence.
"Okay, I'll se-"
"You promised to eat ice cream with me again today." He cut me off with a small pout and I smiled slightly, before tapping my stomach.
"Don't want to gain more weight." He rolled his eyes and grabbed my wrist.
"Please stay, while I practice." Looking into his eyes, I saw them shine hopefully and I sighed, nodding my head, making his face break into a small grin."Now, let's get you to the practice room." I walked in front of him until we reached the practice room and he walked in first, with me right behind him.
"Why doesn't it surprise me, that Jia's here." Donghyuck joked and I stuck my tongue out at him, before placing my bag on the ground. I sat down, leaning against the mirror and I focused on the seven guys who were discussing something, before they finally started dancing.
Chenle's dancing had gotten better since I had last seen him dance, but so had the others."Did I do well?" Jaemin laid down by my feet and he looked at me with a grin and he was breathing heavily as I nodded.
"You all did great." Chenle sat down beside me and Renjun sat on the other side of me.
Soon they started their own little conversation and I looked at Chenle.
"Did I really promise ice cream?" Laughing a bit, I looked at him, who let out a small chuckle as well and he shrugged.
"I don't remember, I guess it was an excuse to make you stay for practice and hang out with you." He seemed rather embarrassed after those words had left his lips and I giggled a bit."You don't have to make excuses, to hang out with me."
"Do you understand them?" Donghyuck asked Renjun, making me look at the two and Renjun nodded slowly.
"Yeah.. I do understand what they're saying.." He mumbled, keeping his attention on Donghyuck and I bit my inner cheek, before looking back at Chenle."Is he okay?" Chenle whispered to me and I immediately knew he was talking about his best friend, who seemed to be a bit upset. Nodding my head, I gave him a small smile.
"Yeah.. He's probably just tired.."

Chenle's POV:
"I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Renjun pulled me into a hug and I nodded, before looking at Jia with a small smile.
"You ready to go?" She asked and I looked at the five confused guys, before nodding my head. "Bye!" I waved my hand at them, before walking out of the room with her and I looked at her.
"Are you sure nothing's wrong? He seems really down." I mumbled, because I couldn't help but feel a bit worried for my best friend. "Probably tired.. You guys worked really hard today." Her words made me nod and we were out of the building and heading towards the ice cream shop.
"I'll pay today." This made her laugh slightly and I smiled, not feeling as down as earlier. "The woman behind the counter actually teased me for paying." She elbowed me in the stomach and I pushed her slightly, making her laugh once again.
It had been a while since I had heard her laugh this happily and I felt satisfied, that I had gotten her mind off her family for now.
"You suddenly grew quiet. Is something wrong?" She asked with a bit of concern in her voice and I quickly shook my head, a smile forming on my face.
"No, don't worry! Just thinking. You're taking really good care of me." I mumbled the last part mostly to myself, even though I wanted to say it louder and she smiled, before she grabbed my arm.
"Of course, I'm taking care of you, now let's hurry up!" We reached the ice cream shop in less than five minutes and when we arrived, we were both laughing and out of breath.
"This just shows, how unfit I am!" I rolled my eyes, before we both sat down.
"Just run three times a week." I said with a laugh in the end, because what did I know about staying fit?"That's easy for you to say, you aren't anything but bones and skin!" She pinched my wrist, making me wince.
"Ow? You aren't anything but it either!" Pinching her wrist, she squeaked and with another laugh, I stood up."I'll go get the ice cream now." I made my way to the counter and the woman standing behind it, smiled at me.
"This time it's the boyfriend that pays?" I surprisingly understood every word she said, but I felt myself get nervous by the word 'boyfriend'.
"I'm not.." I tried to explain, which made the woman laugh and nod, before saying another sentence I understood completely."You may not be together, but I know young love, when I see it."
