Oh lord.. How in the world is he here in front of me? He was fake. There is no way on Earth that he is real. If he was real then that means every dream I have ever had is the truth, along with how I feel about him.
"Lily what in the world were you thinking? You cant go back to Missouri and save your mom. Docklies got her. All you can do is stay right here until the right time." His voice was harsh and sounded pissed.
As he turned away I notice something was behind him. Sure enough it was that flying horse I saw earlier, right before I passed out. But wait how did I get inside the house? Did Caleb carry me off into the house and then leave? If so why wasn't he here when I woke up?
"What is that thing?" My voice was shaky as if I was scared of the creature that stood before me.
"What Polly? Polly is my horse. Well humans call them horses there actual name is Equus ferus caballus. I guess scientist call them by their true names but still they don't know what these animals can do because they have always taken them for granted."
As he was talking about this horse I realized what he said earlier. 'You can't save your mom. Docklies got her.' Wait what? No there is no way that they could have. Hold on a second, my mother while we were in the closet she said to tell the woman that Julius was after her, that he found her. Which Julius is the leader of the Docklies which means Caleb is right. They got her.
"Yes they do. And if you go to them right now to save your mother, the true orballers will be destroyed. Julius will drain your powers and be ruler. He will even began to use it on humans and make them his slaves. I know you don't want to stay but you are going to have to. Until the time is completely right."
He was right. I guess.. However I still don't believe that I have all this amazing powers like Orabella was talking about.
"You do Lillian. You have all the powers your grandparents had, along with your mothers and new ones that no one knows about. Of course you don't realize you have these powers because your mother kept them a secret from you. Which is one of the biggest mistakes if you ask me."
"How did you even know I was thinking of my powers? What are you some mind reader?" I laughed softly like he could read minds I mean come on..
"Actually I'm kind of like a mind reader but some people are hard than others to read. To be honest this is the first time I have ever been able to read you. I'm guessing its because you are worried about your mother and so much you have learned."
Well it's a good thing he has ever been able to read me until now or he would know... Wait. No. I can't think anything along the lines of that. I looked up at him to see a smirk on his face. Yep he knew what I was about to think.
"So in the dreams, who was controlling the dreams?"
"Oh that was me. My grandmother explained it to me when I was four. You see when we were younger, our minds wanted to meet other orballers around our age. That way we knew that we weren't alone. Do you remember your sixth birthday?" He asked as he began to walk away with Polly.
Quickly I caught up with him, "Yeah. It was my sixth birthday and after my party all of the sudden you appeared."
"By chance do you remember what you said to me?"
Thinking back then I realized that I was crazy about Caleb. He was my best friend and someone that I use to always say I want to be with. I blushed slighty.
"Yeah. I remember. We were young back then. There was some good times. Until you started not coming around anymore."
It hurt me when I was about eight and would wait around for Caleb to show his face and he never did, he never would. By the time I was nine I got tired of waiting for someone that I knew wouldn't show. Though once I started getting friends, anything they did that reminded me of Caleb, he popped into my head. It wasn't until I started liking guys when Caleb finally disappeared from my mind. Well that was until a last night when he came to me in a dream.
"I hope you know I didn't mean to hurt you." I looked over to see his eyes focusing on me. "I never wanted that. But I was banned from see you."
"What do you mean banned Caleb? It was your choice to come and see me or not." My heart ached deep inside as the wound began to open slowly.
My mother use to always say that I loved deeply and that when I got hurt, it would always be there waiting to be reopened. She was right with the way I was feeling right now. Though I tried everything in my power to not let him see what the past was bringing back again. I think he can't read my mind anymore or my pain.
"It's not like that Lily." Lily was a nickname he gave to me when we were younger. He use to always say that Lillian is for adults to use and as long as we were kids, my name would be Lily.
"How is it not like that?"
He sighed and began to remove the horses equipment that it had on its back. It was a good while until he said anything else. When he was done with the horse, he lightly tapped its butt and it took off into the field.
I watched it run through the land, she was beautiful so was the land. Turning around I realized that Caleb took a seat on the hay bale. Slowly I walked over to him and sat down next to him.
"Lillian, I wanted to see you each day after your sixth birthday. But I truly was banned. The OCOD was so close to finding out who I was talking to in my dreams. They don't know about you. If they did you wouldn't be alive. They would kill you because its too much of a risk."
"What do you mean a risk? How am I a risk?"
"If Julius would get you Lillian any orballer that has tried to stand against him would die. That's why you are a risk. You could be our light in the darkness but then again the blackness that covers the light."
Sorry this chapter is a little short!!! But that last line is just my fav!!!
