The Rescue Mission

I was no longer sad I was angry bucky was alive I knew it I would have felt if he had died. he was in Austria 30 miles behind enemy lines and I would find him. I put on tight navy pants and a black tank top with chest pads to protect me from bullets, over it I had a black jacket on and my hair in a bun. I wore mountain boots that concealed a knife in each boot and a gun in the back of my belt I was scared not of dying but of being to late. "Gracie hurry"howie called to me I followed him Peggy and Steve to one of his air crafts and climbed on before I was fully on Steve pulled me back. It was alarming at first steves new found strength was still trying to process in my mind "gracie I know you wanna save bucky but he would kill me if you got hurt"Steve worries I scoffed and pulled my arm free "Steve your my best friend and I love you like a brother but don't treat me like a child please"he at first was hesitant but nodded we both climbed onto the plane and settled with looks from Peggy I ignored. After an hour or so of flying Peggy began to explain the plan how me and Steve would save the men all the while me and Steve strapped parachutes onto our backs howie said something about stopping for a late night fondue Steve gave Peggy a dirty look I rolled my eyes he knew nothing about women. "Steve howie is the best civilian pilot i have ever seen trust a little more he's brave enough to man a dangerous air space for us" Peggy gave steve the button for escape when out of no where bullets where being fired at us "I think that's our signal to go"I grabbed steves hand ignoring Peggy's protest Steve gave me a hesitant look "you jump I jump right"I said to Steve he nodded and with that we both jumped wind wiping in our faces after a minute we pulled the parachutes and landed safely we abandoned the packs and run threw a small wood area to the main gates "crap guards what's the plan now"I whisper yelled to Steve as I said that a car which was most likely full of soldiers drove past on the near path he gave me his mysterious smile I sighed that serum had a side effect it had turned my once sensible best friend into a lunatic. We both ran towards it and jumped into the back of the truck. a group of nazi' stared at us Steve kicked there asses and threw them out "ouch I could have done that" when we entered we snuck towards the main building by climbing on huge containers thanks to Steve "hey you know I'm trained and fit but your a super soldier Steve wait up""come on"he whisper yelled before grabbing my hand and dragging me forward. We waited for a door round the side to answer before long a man came out and Steve had no time to react before I knocked the guy out and dragged him to cover making Steve's eyebrows raise "what cause I'm a girl I can't pack a punch please Steve don't be sexist" I eye rolled "I didn't mean that"he stuttered "sure you didn't" I scoffed playfully. We moved forward into a factory place covered by men we snuck through weapon containers. Steve pulled me against a wall next to him and put a finger to his lips signalling for me to hush I looked behind me to see long vials of blue glowing liquid in viles like the super solider serum I ran towards them and pocketed a few before Steve could stop me I needed these they could be close to making a new serum despite the fact they looked like bullets of some kind that would not be good better safe than sorry. Again I knocked out a guard taking his keys before we ran down a hall on the floor were the top of cells I passed the keys into the cells full of American soldiers from the one hundred and seventh "and who are you two supposed to be"one asked looking up at us probably confused as to how a women and a man in tights had gotten in "I'm um captain america"Steve says "Gracie hart"I nod to them we met them all at the bottom and waited till they were all out before me and Steve asked around for James they said he had been taken to a back room but once men go in there they don't come back my heart beat was beating rapidly I knew he was alive well so far he was.

Steve gave them orders they seemed hesitant "wait do you two know what your doing"one man said looking at me right cause I'm a women dicks "yeah cause we knocked out hitler like 200 times just do it"I sarcastically snap they seemed surprised by my out burst but they did as I said. Soon we began to hear the chaos the men we realised had caused before a alarm began to sound but we carried on our search for bucky going down steps and halls as we ran through the halls we were taking out men as they passed us Steve trying to show off I was still the better fighter just not as strong. Ok well maybe he was a little better but hey I'm a doctor my forte is science not fighting. We got to a empty hall just in time to see some man run by. I heard a voice and while Steve was looking around I ran towards it "gracie what did I tell you" Steve yelled while following me "shhh" I hushed him I opened a door and ran towards a tired looking bucky who was strapped to a test table I got to him just as Steve did a explosion of joy evident in my eyes. Steve ripped the restraints from buckys arms and legs and I helped him sit up I hug him and he hugged back "gracie"his voice barely audible said I cried into his chest I missed him his hugs his voice his musky smell "yeah it's me it's me buck"I cupped his face he smiled before looking at Steve with wide eyes "thought you were smaller"he said bewildered at his best friends double in size I giggled through my happy tears Steve gave one look around before helping me get bucky up "what happened to you"bucky asked still in shock "I joined the army"is all Steve replied wow I had a lot of explaining to do. We supported his weight down the hall explaining the simple terms of how Steve was bigger and stronger bucky throwing questions the whole way the building was burning we turned to a bridge only to come face to face with Schmidt Steve told me and bucky to stay back while he dealt with him before his helper the one from the hall pulled the bridge back Schmidt went on to reveal a alien looking red face me and bucky both were shocked by this"he don't have one of those does he"Bucky looked at me my eyebrows raised eyes wide "no"I shook my head steve still stood up to him red skull I decided to call him went on about him and Steve being god like how they had left humanity behind damn right Schmidt had with that face Schmidt went into a lift we began to run up loads of stairs bucky holding my hand I didn't mind I never wanted to be apart from him ever again. We got to the top where a railing line went across like a thin bridge Steve and bucky looked at me"gracie one at a time go across first"Steve said to me my grip on buckys hand tightened "no I can't what about you two"I said panic evident in my voice "we will be right behind you I promise"bucky cupped my face and gave me a passionate kiss I gripped his face and kissed back we had shared kisses before but never with such passion Steve coughed and we split I blushed "ok ill do it" bucky held my hand as I climbed over the railing I looked back at him and squeezed his hand before slowly to keep my balance walked across the beam I reached the other end and climbed to safety next bucky came but a he was heavier the beam began to break I was on edge was I about to watch my fiancé die he made a run and jumped for the railings on my side I grabbed him and pulled him over as the beam he had just walked across fully snapped "Steve"I called across to my best friend who was stranded "go run"we hear Steve yell "no not without you"bucky yelled back Steve could see we would not give up so he ran back preparing to make a jump for it despite the fire he made it and we ran together as 3 best friends out of the hydra base.
