Blake

"Oh my shit, is this or is this not the hottest, most delicious looking specimen you have ever laid eyes on?" Ella shrieked, rolling from her back to her stomach. She lay spread out on my bed while I sat at my desk, finishing an assignment that was due tomorrow morning.

"Yeah, sure." I muttered, still staring at the blank paper that sat on the screen. The black little line flashing on and off, taunting me. Curse you little black line. However, in the past two and half hours that I have sat here, I've been able to write my name. Now, I'm pretty sure that's progression people.

I could feel Ella's hard stare in the back on my head, "Blake, what's wrong?"

"Nothing." I shrug.

"Bullshit." Ella said as I heard her get up off my bed, "Blake, you've been my best friend since forever. I know you like the back of my hand, so I don't see why you're lying to me. Something has got you all moody and depressed. Because if you weren't, you'd be equally—if not more—drooling over him."

I turn around, seeing Ella standing behind me with her arms folded. I place the tip of my mechanical pencil between my teeth and look up at her, "I'm not lying, it's nothing."

Ella leans forward, "Don't test me Parker. I know you're lying so tell me. I want to help."

We then compete in a long and exhausting glare off. None of us broke, because we're both competitive, stubborn ass bitches. My eyes started watering while Ella was still going strong, until I realised I couldn't keep this from my best friend for any long, and surrendered with a breathless sigh.

"Okay," I say standing up, grabbing her hands and walking over to my bed, "I'm going to tell you something that's super important, so please do not freak out."

"Since when have I ever?" Ella scoffed as we sat down on the edge of my bed. I gave her a pointed look with raised eyebrows and she clears her throat, "Continue."

"I kinda....kissed Alex....yesterday." I say slowly, feeling her still in my hands. I glance up to see her blue eyes staring at me, emotionless. Oh god, here we go. I should've just kept my big mouth shut now she's going to push me away and think I'm some big creepy creep—

"Finally!" Ella beams a smile at me and cheers leaving me confused, "About fucking time too. I honestly thought you two would just burst from all that sexual tension built up and do it in front of everybody."

"Wait, wait, wait. Hold the phone," I said, holding my hand up in the air as I turned to face her better, "So you're not...angry? Disgusted? Repulsed?"

Ella threw her arms around me and squeezed the damn living out of me, "Why the hell would I be angry? Blake you're my best friend, not even a million dollars could change that."

"Thanks, Ells." I smile into her shoulder.

"Two million? Now we're talking." She giggled as we departed from the embrace, and I gave her an amused glare, "Joking."

Ella was the best friend people dreamt of having. She'll stay in with me if I'm feeling tired. She'll go out with me if I'm ready to turn up. And she'll probably help me over throw some government and establish our own country where it's illegal to wear pants and everybody has to own a dog. You know, true best friend shit.

"I of course, being the most incredible person in the world, knew you've always liked Alex. And I know for a fact that he likes you too." She nudged my shoulder with a cheeky smirk while I rolled my eyes.

"Thanks for the little fantasy story, Ells. But that's never going to happen." I scoffed, shaking my head.

"Did he kiss you back yesterday?" She asked, and I instantly went quiet as a devious grin stretched across her pink lips, "I stand by my previous statement. Blake, every time you two are in the room, it's like the guy is undressing you in his mind. As weird as it sounds, it's true."
