Chapter 4: Thank God For Distractions

I gulp. "O-ok, what's up?" I ask. "I know how you feel about Kid." she says. "I can tell by the way you look at him." My eyes widen. Is this girl physic or something? "U-um you got this all w-wrong..." I start to say, but the she pushes me. "You and me both know I'm right." she says in annoyance. "Just stay away from Kid, I saw him first and he's MINE. Not yours." She says. "I..uh.." I don't even know what to say now. "I'm warning you Blake, stay away from him, my mom is a witch, and she will kill you if I have to make her!" She shouts. I step back. What should I do? I can't just stop loving Kid. I'm going to give her a piece of my mind. I open my mouth to say something, but I see Kid running over to Liz and I. ..I can't do this. "I should go.." I say quietly and turn around to go to my house. Then Kid starts to talk. "Liz! Ms.Rosewood! Hold up!" I stop walking and turn around. Liz gives me a dead look. Ok I'm done I just have to avoid Kid. I turn around again and run home. Kid stops in his tracks and watches me run, "Is she ok Liz?" Liz smirks,"oh she's fine." She replies in happiness. Kid and Lis walk home together while I run into my house without greeting my mom and I move upstairs to my room. I sit on my bed and cry silently. After about an hour of that. I get a text. Damn it, it's kid. I open up the text. "Hey, meet me at the park at 8?" He wrote. My eyes widened. What about Liz? I really don't want to see her. Sigh, Blake, go in yolo mode. I write back. "Sure." Okay Blake, your first date with a guy that you like but could be the reason you die. Well that's not good. I walk to my closet and choose my favorite purple blouse and black skater skirt. They go pretty nice with my violet flats, and purse. I look in the mirror. I look like a grapefruit. Well, I guess that's okay, maybe Kid likes grapefruits. I look at my clock, 7:30. By the time I walk over there it'll be eight I suppose. I go down stairs. "Mom, I'm going to meet a friend at the park." I say. My mom laughs. "You mean boyfriend?" She asks. "MOM" I yell. She laughs again. "I'm kidding, go have fun." She smiles. That makes me smile. "Thanks mom, I love you." With that, I walk out the door and head to the park. You know how I said that something good better happen this year? I think kid is that good thing. Hopefully.
