Prologue

Who knew there was another life after we died? Who ever thought they would live in it? I didn’t. You guys may think that the place I’m talking to you guys about is the almighty heaven, right? But, you guys are wrong…big time. I’m taking about the place I ended up in…hell. Why did I end up in hell? I have no clue. Do you guys want to find out?

(//_^)

It was night time in summer. Suddenly it felt really hot as I walked to the park. Where was Aaron at? He said he would be here like…right now. All I saw was an empty bench, but a rope hung above it. Who put that there? I thought.

I walked up to the bench and stood on it, observing the rope. I tried to see where the rope came from, so I looking over the loop. All the way around the tree was where the rope came from. How am I suppose to bring the rope down? Should…I bring the rope down? My mind kept thinking about what to do.

To me, taking down the rope was the right thing to do, so people wouldn’t get hurt from it. So I tried to take down the rope, but I suddenly felt scared to. The air rustled roughly around me. How could it be hot one minute…but freezing cold the next? I thought. But that wasn’t the only thing that scared me…it was the constant movement around me.

I glanced around…nothing. I had the sudden urge to believe that Aaron was here, but I didn’t want to believe it. “Aaron? Aaron!” I kept calling. Nothing answered. My heart beat increased a lot. “ Nothing’s here, April. Nothing’s here. Just be calm,” I whispered to myself.

Then, I looked to where the end of the rope dangled. It moved slowly…more slowly than I was. Did it feel dramatic? Yes it did. About three minutes passed. Nobody was there for sure. It’s just a rope…how could I be scared?

Gently, I took out a pocket knife from my left pouch in my jeans. I stared at the loop like it was something really interesting. Why do I feel this way? It’s just a rope…just a rope, I thought. I took a breath and set the knife into place on the loop. My plan was to cut off the loop just to be sure that nobody would get hurt. But, I was wrong.

In one swift movement, somebody called out my name. “April.” I memorized the voice. It was deep and solemn…like Aaron’s. “April. I’m here.”

I jumped in surprise, then I looked forward, giving a kind smile. “I see that, Aaron. You’re a bit late, don’t you think?”

He smirked, and laid against the rope’s end that dangled. “I am late, I admit. But, I’m not late enough to do this!” Aaron threw one arm up in the air as a signal.

I looked confused, but before I could say anything…someone pushed me into the rope loop. Then in one movement, Aaron pulled the rope downwards. My head swung up, leading my body with it.

“Why, Aaron? Why?” Those were the last words…I’ll never forget.
