"The police aren't going to help us," Evelyn eventually said, hanging up the phone. She was fuming, she was so mad and upset that Angus just held her into his body. It was better than speaking and saying something that sparked tears. He would hate to see her cry.
"Not helping at all?" He asked, slightly concerned. What he knew about the police, was that you called them when you were in trouble and needed legal assistance. And someone leaking private information without consent can be classified as that.
"Well, they're quite busy at the moment and can't take action to something to do with investigations and some other shit. So really, they'll help us once they've cleared things with courts for search warrants and shit which can take ages." Evelyn huffed. This funny talk didn't make any sense to Angus, so he just pulled her in closer and kissed her on the head.
"You look tired," He eventually said, running his finger over the prominent bags under her captivating eyes. His Evy's once alive pale blue eyes now looked almost dead and grey, surrounded by black bags. He could see her stressing about this, and mixed with poor sleep from their camping he knew it was best of she went to sleep.
"Geeze, thanks Gus." Evelyn snapped. She wriggled out of his arms and went into his kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with some water. She huffed, fed up with everything. Their camping trip was amazing, but todays surprise almost ruined it. She tried to separate the two events, but she still felt glum.
"You still look beautiful, even when tired." Evelyn felt Angus wrap his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on top of her head.
"What are you on about Gus?" Evelyn laughed. She placed her glass on the bench, then her hands on his hands wrapped around her.
"You walked away when I said you looked tired. I just want you to know that even when you look like shit, you still look amazing."
Angus was so blunt, Evelyn couldn't help but laugh. She spun around and faced him. Jumping slightly, he helped her sit on the bench in front of Angus. Her hands went to his shoulders, a lazy grin on her face as she admired him.
"I didn't walk away because of your comment Angus, I'm just frustrated and pissed off with what's going on." He nodded his head, deep brown eyes focusing solely on her. Captivated by her every movement. "I'm sorry," she tried again, her eyes almost pleading to give her anything.
"Don't apologise," he said softly. Evelyn smiled, closed her eyes and puckered her lips. She sat waiting expectantly for a kiss, and she smiled when she briefly felt his lips press on hers.
"Let's sleep?" Evelyn asked. Once again, Angus nodded his head. He pulled her body from the bench, her legs wrapping around his waist as he shuffled to the bedroom. Evelyn couldn't help but smile as this position resembled a koala.

"Okay, so. Who do we think it could be?" It was early the next morning and after a good night's sleep, Evelyn was fired up and ready to solve who the person was leaking all their secrets.
"Mike," Angus said. Evelyn immediately frowned.
"He's our friend, he wouldn't do that." Angus just shrugged his shoulders.
"It like back at home, family can turn on family to gain something. Status, most likely or reward like food."
Evelyn bit her lip, nodding her head. Motivation, that's what they needed to figure out.
"Have you pissed anyone off?" Evelyn asked, her eyes looking on him.
"I don't pay attention, because I don't care what they think."
"Wrong answer Angus, I need a yes or no response." Evelyn pleaded with him.
"I'm making my own option," he teased.
"Gus, please. I love you. I love how you're sarcastic but this is serious." Evelyn pleaded. Angus mumbled an apology.
"The only person I can think of is the secretary at my classes. She glares at me every time I walk past."
Evelyn nodded her head, adding her to the list because why the hell not.
Mike
SecretaryEvelyn added another name.
Loretta Jones
Angus shook his head no.
"She won't do it, she helps me." His dark brows furrowed, a shake to his head. He hated the women, but her job was to help. Even he knew the confidentiality rule and the consequences of breaking them.
"You said before Gus, people can turn for a benefit." Angus frowned, hating how his words were being used against him. They went on, continuing to list off names. After they gathered about eight, they tried to logically piece things together. After an hour, they turned a blank.
"We need to talk to them, not just think about it." Angus was lying on his back, one leg propped up. His eyes are closed and he felt the weight of Evelyn leaning against his leg as she examined the papers infrotn of her all over again.
"We need to find some type of connection though." She mumbled for the last time.
"Evy," he said softly, placing his hand on her shoulder. "We need to talk to them. I have a class, I'll talk to Loretta. I'll call Mike after, and in the mean time you can go through some other people on the list."
"But they'll know we're onto them." If there was anything she learnt from TV shows, it was that once the criminal knew people were on their case, they would go to extremes to ensure they remain anonymous and safe.
"Maybe the direct approach will scare them." Angus suggested. "If they're already scared about leaking information, then knowing we suspect them will make them stop from fright."
"Or it will spur them on."
"But then we'll catch them."
"How?"
"We just will," he spoke reassuringly. "If not, by then the police will have their warrant things and they can deal with it." He heard Evelyn sigh and the weigh shifting on his body. A second later, he felt her flop gently down next to him, throwing a leg over his torsO and hugging him tight.
"Why are you so calm about this?"
"Why are you so stressed?" He fired back.
"It's your personal life. It shouldn't be out there for everybody to know unless you want it to be." Angus let that sink in. he understood the importance and want of privacy, but it was out there and there was nothing more he could do. He couldn't change the past, and there were no more big secrets in his life.
"I love you," Angus said, pressing his lips gently on her head. Evelyn mumbled back a response, curling further into his body. Angus didn't even care he would be late to his session.
Really, really short and boring, sorry. I'm trying to wrap this up, I swear it and I'm shocking at mystery stuff. It was never supposed to be a mystery plot at the end but it just kind of happened.
