Sorry it's short guys, I'll try to make it longer in the next one.
Ciao~*
It had been two weeks and three days since I had reunited with Dominic and also found out that I had been the only one who had put my all into our friendship.I had thrown myself into my work that night, granted I had tried to sleep but the evening's events wouldn't leave me alone so I ended up staying awake and finished majority of the reports I still had left to do.
"You're practically killing yourself Montes." I heaved a sigh and cast a tired look over at Matthew who had been nagging me the past couple of days to go home and take a few days off. But he didn't understand that if I did I would be left alone with my thoughts and that's the last thing I needed.
"Why are you being a mother hen?" I grumbled as I turned back to my desk and started straightening the folders of old case files I had been looking through. Garcia was passed out at his desk from pulling an all nighter, according to him he felt bad that he was going home on time but I was apparently putting more effort in than him.
Matthew slammed his fist down on the desk angrily, a fierce look on his face."I'm being a mother hen because you need to sleep before you die!"
"Then I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead," I snapped. I pushed myself away from my desk and went to the rest area that had tiny individual rooms for officers when they wanted to rest. I stepped inside one and locked the door behind me as I tugged my phone out of my pocket.
I scrolled through the contact list before finding his name and dialing it. i sat on the bed as I listened to the phone ring, each one more annoying than the last.
"Pronto?" He answered on the fourth ring and I fought the intense urge to hurl the phone at the wall.
"Allô crétin."I greeted, lying back on the cot.
"Callum," he sounded surprised and I couldn't really blame him but I did say I would contact him if I had found something. Didn't I? "Why are you calling?"
Seriously?
"Information on the case, thought you'd be interested." I flicked a piece of hair out of my eyes before tucking the arm back underneath my head.
"Well can it wait?"
"No." I scowled at his stupidity. First they want me to be there inside man without knowing it and now when I'm trying to save one of their asses they want me to wait?
"Well we're a bit busy at the moment."
"So am I."
"Callum," he growled through the phone.
"Oberdeck." I smirked when I heard him scoff on the other end. "Anyway princess, I was just calling to inform you that we found out there were two killers instead of one. We were able to pull partial fingerprints from one of the vics but it's too badly damage it won't do us any good or hold up in court. We also found that there were two different angles at which the stab wounds were inflicted as well as gunshot wounds that were found in the lower rear abdominal area."
It was silent on the other end of the phone which caused me to pull the phone away from my ear to make sure he hadn't disconnected. He was still there so I placed the phone back to the side of my head.
"You managed to find all that out already?"
"We aren't stupid," I huffed. I was about to bitch him out for thinking that way when there was a knock on the door. I got up and after unlocking the door I peered out of the tiny crack I made just to see an apologetic looking Mike.
"You're needed on scene, kid. Ricky seems to have fucked up and angered some old lady so chief's sending you," he explained and I couldn't help but groan in agony.
"Callum?"
"Hey I gotta go, but if I find anything else out I'll give you a call." I went to hang up but was stopped by him calling my name. I returned the phone to my ear and waited quietly for him to continue.
"Have you been taking care of yourself?" He asked with what sounded like concern lacing his words.
"Yeah," I lied, looking at Mike with an all but dead look. "I gotta go now."
I hung up as he called my name once more and brushed past Mike and out the station's doors, meeting up with Garcia.

"Ma'am please calm down."
I dodged a punch that was aimed for my face and swiftly grabbed the woman's wrist before pinning her to the hood of her car. My cheek still stung from when her sister had decked me moments ago and I was worried I was going to have to fight the mother bear any moment now. Once we had detained them and put them into the back of the squad cars, I instructed the officers to take them to the jail and process them which they did so eagerly. I turned on Ricky the second he stopped behind me and lit into him.
He had responded to a noise complaint and it had gotten out of hand all because he let those two girls boss him around which had pissed off the elderly woman. I lectured him for a good twenty minutes and told him to report to Detective Matthew if he had any questions since Matthew was the one who mainly worked in his area, he just so happened to be busy the moment a shitstorm happened.
I glanced down at my watch and saw that it was well past nine at night and ran a hand down my face. I knew I couldn't keep doing these late nights at work or even pulling multiple all nighters but for some reason I continued to do so. I could feel it taking a toll on me every time I sat down when I all I wanted to do was sleep and I finally decided that tonight I would give in and call it a night early.
