The miners were even more quicker, doing their work, not taking even a second to spare a glance at the commotion happening.

I was dragged further and further away from there and my heart ached so much just listening to the deafening sounds of the statue crumbling into rubbles. I tried prying myself away from the strong arms holding me tight with all my might but they didn't budge.

"Let me go, now!" I bellowed as I planted my foot into the grass but it didn't help at all what was left was the soil coming up from the grass from the friction that my feet gave.

A warm tear eventually trickled down my cheek as I could see the statue was there, no more. I was roughly thrown onto my bed and before I could do anything else, the door was slammed shut along with a click.

Once that first tear broke free, the rest followed in an unbroken stream. I bent forward, lying down on the bed and pressed my palms to the blanket.

I began to cry so hard that my whole body shook from all the force. I fell into a deep sleep before I was awaken by a noise. I glanced at the tray of food placed on the table, still untouched and looked out the window.

A part of me thought that the people weren't done with their sick act yet and it made my insides churn just thinking about the last time I saw the statue. Like always, its face had a sad expression.

It was as if he was silently pleading for help. I shut my eyes, forcing myself to stop thinking about it. The noise was still there and I hastily got up to see what it was.

To my surprise, it was Mister Park. He was calling out to me while still being silent. "Mister Park? What are you doing?" I whisper-shouted. He put a finger to his mouth telling me to keep quiet.

He got out an object and threw it to me. I managed to catch it on the first try, it was a key. "To unlock your room" he whispered hastily.

"Make sure it's 12:30 a.m when you get out, alright? That's when everyone will be asleep" he added. Before I could reply he was already running back to god knows where. I sighed, what was I supposed to do once I unlock myself?

It's not like I could see the statue again even if I wanted to anyway, it'd only make me sad again looking at its remains, reminding me of what I had seen earlier.

I threw the key onto my table, where it landed with a loud clank. I then remembered about the golden key that I found days ago. I slipped my hand under my pillow where I hid it and pulled it out.

It shone in the moonlight. I observed it, the shape of the key was unique. I looked around the room, finding nothing interesting that would keep me entertained.

Oh well, might as well sneak out and try to find out what this key opens. Despite the gardener's statement about the key not belonging to any of the castle's door, I wasn't going to listen. Plus I was curious anyway.

When the clock strike 12:30 sharp, I tip-toed to the door and carefully slipped in the key and twisted it. It opened and I opened it, happy to hear no noise resounding in the palace.

Excitedly, I searched all over the dimly lit castle, from the nasty cellars to the roof but the key just wouldn't unlock any of them. I headed to the last place I know which is the attic.

I silently climbed up and my breath hitched when I spotted something in the corner, a chest.
