Seokjin's parents were starting to worry for him. He's been sitting around that statue more than hanging out with his friends, even after talking to him about it.
They knew very well that their son liked taking solitude at quiet places but having their son play with a statue just didn't sit well with them until one weekend, they've made up their mind that nothing will change.
Unless they did something drastic.
On the other hand, despite being scolded by his father. Seokjin found himself being with the statue even more. He would pour out all his sadness there, pushing away all his friends' invitation to go anywhere else besides the castle.
No, Seokjin was definitely not going mental. He just knew that even if he seeked help from his friends, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it. So, he did what he's good at the most.
Being alone, separated from other people to drown in his own feelings. Completely unaware of two pairs of eyes watching his every move, Seokjin continued his actions that would later hurt him.
Seokjin's parents never understood him, it was their fault though for they never made time to get to know him. In their corrupted minds, they thought they knew him well just because they're his parents and that whatever they do for him is for his best.
"We need to remove that thing" the father stated to the mother in his study. Her brows raised, everyone in the castle knew there was no way of putting the statue away, it was impossible.
As if he understood her mind he said, "We'll destroy it, with a hammer or a heavy anchor, just anything" she was slightly skeptical with his plan but he said something that he was sure would make her agree with his plan.
"Then do you want our child to belong in one of those insane asylums? " she shook her head no.
A week later, without letting Seokjin know of their plan, the king quietly had a few of the miners to demolish the statue, for once and for all.
Of course, there was no way the work could be done silently. Without any choice, they just had to do it while he's in the mansion, distracted by a maid who was a set up by his father.
Seokjin was diligently doing tapestry while being taught by the maid when suddenly, a loud crash could be heard so clear he was jerked forward from shock.
"What was that?" he asked practically to nobody. "Now sir we push this needle like this..." the maid pulled his hand, trying to regain his attention but it didn't work one bit.
"I need to see it" he abruptly stood up pushing aside the unfinished work. "No sir you're-" he didn't care whether he was being rude anymore and sprinted outside where the noise became even louder.
Seokjin was alarmed by it and felt like there was a lump forming in his throat and he hoped that the noise isn't coming from where he foreboded it was happening. His steps became heavy and his heart dropped when he saw people wrecking the statue down.
Pieces of the statue's parts came tumbling down into unknown shapes. "No what are you doing?!" he yelled. None of the miners heard him, keeping up with their actions.
"You can't do this!" he rushed to one of the miners, pulling their hands away with a harsh force. His father came into view, Seokjin's eyes widening. "Father, what do you think you're doing??" he screamed.
His shaky hands motioning towards them. "Doing what's best for you" he spoke. "No you're not! You don't know anything about what's best for me!" he persisted as he advanced towards his dad.
Out of the blue, a hard slap landed on Seokjin's cheek making him fall to the ground with a yelp. His hand held his aching cheek as he looked at his father with apoplexy mixed with disappointment.
He never thought that his own father would do anything like that to him. "Lock him up" he heard a rough voice say before strong arms started pulling him up.
