Chapter Fifteen

I didn't notice him leaning in until out noses touched and his lips brushed against mine.

I kissed back without thinking.

And then it hit me.

I wasn't just kissing anyone.

I was kissing Josh.

Maddy's POV

I laid in my bed that night thinking about everything that happened. Tonight was really fun, I hadn't done anything for me since Aria was born.

My thoughts were not long after interrupted by a knock at the door.

"It's Josh." Said the voice on the other side of the door.

I sat up and ran my hand through my hair. "Come in."

"Hey." he smiled. His smile was perfect.

"Hi." I said, patting the spot next to me telling him to sit.

"Look," he started as he sat.

"About tonight. I shouldn't have kissed you. It was totally out of line, I mean you're Joe's girl. He's my best friend. Ya know? I'm really into you, and I have been since I met you a little over a year ago." He sighed looking down.

"Joe would hate me if he found out." He whispered.

"He doesn't have to find out though." I whispered while leaning in for a kiss.

Our lips moved in sync. It felt perfect.

I woke up to come eye to eye to a frustrated Josh.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"We can't do this. This is wrong, I shouldn't have kissed you. I'm so sorry." He said before walking out, leaving me confused.

I got up, brushed my teeth and threw my hair into a high ponytail and put on black spandex shorts and a grey hoodie.

I bounced down the stairs to see the guys already packed up.

"Are you guys leaving already?" I asked while pouring out coffee.

"Yeah. Josh is being pushy." Joey rolled his eyes.

"Do you guys want breakfast? I can make waffles or pancakes! I have fresh fruit too." I smiled.

"Sounds great!" Joey said.

"Let's go! The realtors already at the apartment!" Josh said hopping down the last step.

"I can take you two later if you want to stay for breakfast." I offered Joey and Jonah getting out the food.

"Sounds good. Joshua we're gonna stay for breakfast." Joey said.

Josh agreed, gave me a hug, and walked out.

"I got a text from Joe, he's on his way over to drop off Aria. He has plans. Do you guys mind playing with her while I make breakfast?"

"Sure that's not a problem!" Joey said.

"She's so cute!" Jonah said.

Joe texted me not long after that he was there so I met him outside.

"You're going somewhere with Acacia?" I asked a little hurt when I saw her in the passenger seat.

"Yep." He said shortly.

"Uh, how are you? I mean, you know?" I said as I took my baby into my arms.

"Don't act like you give a fuck." He spat.

My eyes widened as I pointed to Aria.

"She's a baby Maddy! She doesn't know what it means." Joe said as he rolled his eyes.

"I guess you're not going to be seeing Aria for a while." I said turning around.

"Madz wait." He pleaded but I ignored. I heard the car door slam and I peeked over my shoulder. I saw him slam his hands against a steering wheel, startling Acacia.

I shook my head and shut the front door. Joey took her our of my arms immediately making pointless noises at her causing endless giggles to pour from her lips.

"I told Joe that he couldn't see Aria for a while." I said as I continued to make breakfast.

"Why!?" Jonah asked as he took her from Joey's hands.

"He was cursing around her and yelled at me when I told him not too." I sighed.

I'm sorry he's such an a- butt to you." he said correcting himself.

I laughed putting food on their plates.

I put Aria to bed and ran myself a hot bubble bath. Before I got in I saw a picture of Joe with his arms around Acacia's waist from behind and them laughing on his Instagram. I angrily threw my phone onto the carpet and got into the bath.

When I got out I saw that Acacia had tweeted:

"@AcaciaBrinley: I thought these past few days meant something... just love being used."

I laughed to myself, not at her pain but at how much of a douche he was. I heard a crack of thunder and Aria let out a cry.

I shushed her back to sleep and laid her down when I heard a knock at the door.

I walked down the stairs and opened the door revealing a soaking wet Joe. He looked so fragile and vulnerable. Like Aria when she cries.

"Joe." I choked out.

"I miss you. I miss you a lot." He whispered pulling me into him. I gladly wrapped my arms around him ignoring the water on him which drenched me as well.

"Come here, lets get you dried off and changed." I said dragging him upstairs by the hand.

We put on fresh pajamas and climbed into bed together.

I looked at his face and took in his sad features.

I ran my fingers up and down his arm looking to his eyes.

"I love you so much babe. You have no idea how much you mean to me. Whether it's the days you burn more brilliant than the sun. Or the nights you collapse into my lap, curling your body into a thousand questions. You are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen I will love you forever. You are truly something great." he said to me.

I nuzzled my face into his neck and sighed happily.

"I love you Joe."

"I love you back Madz."
