Chapter Nineteen
Maddy's POV
"Will you be okay watching Aria today while I go film?" Joe asked, sliding his arm's around my waist.
Joey was in New York again so they were planning a day to film and I'm assuming today is the day.
"Of course." I smiled putting his food on the plate.
"Awesome! I love you!" He said while kissing my cheek and running to the door.
I went upstairs into Aria's room and picked her up.
"Hi baby!" I said. "Let's go somewhere today!"
I got her dressed and put her in her stroller. It was really nice so I decided to walk to the stores.
We walked into Carter's and picked up some socks, bows, and onesies for her.
We grabbed lunch and went back to shopping.
I went into Pac Sun to get some stuff for me.
Aria started crying so I payed quickly.
She started grabbing her ears, something she only did when her ears bothered her.
Her hands clasped on her ears and her face turning red because she was crying so much.
"Aren't you Joe Santagato's girlfriend!?" This girl, who looked about 14 screamed out at me, causing her entire group of friends to rush over to me.
"Yeah." I sighed, obviously not wanting to talk to them.
"Where's Joe?" One pushed.
"Filming." I said shortly.
"Why's she crying?" Another asked.
"Because she's being surrounded by 14 year old girls that she doesn't know." I replied.
"You're a bitch, I don't see why Joe likes you." One said under her breath.
"Well sorry for trying to spend time with my daughter, you know, the one crying hysterically because of all of you 14 year old girls surrounding us! Wouldn't you be a little on edge?" I said to the girls but Aria was crying right in my ear and all of those girls were bombarding me.
"Now if you don't mind, I'm going home because she's obviously not feeling well."
I picked Aria up and bounced her a little. She laid her head on my chest and she was burning up.
I placed her in the stroller and rushed home.
I gave her some Motrin for her fever.
I took her upstairs and gave her a quick bath.
"Joe, I really need you to call me back Aria's running a high fever and her ears are bothering her. I think she might have an ear infection. Please call back, love you babe." I spoke into the phone, hoping it would calm me down.
I put her into her bed and called the doctor.
--------------------
"Babe?" Joe called out as he walked through the front door. smile appeared on his face when he saw us laying on the couch. I had on a pair of yoga pants and a gray t-shirt. My long messy hair in a braid.
Aria had on a pink beanie style hat with a matching long sleeve pink onesie with white socks.
She was laying on her back on my stomach. She would squirm a little but would calm down later on. The medicine was helping.
"How's she feeling?" he asked while picking her up.
"Her fever went down but she's still holding her ears. I made an appointment for tomorrow."
He frowned lightly and sat next to me on the couch. He pulled me to his side and held Aria in the other arm.
"I'm sorry aobut my fans." He sighed.
"How'd you know?" I asked, confused.
"It's all over Twitter."
Fuck. That shit is really a life ruiner.
I grabbed my phone and sent out an apology tweet.
It makes me so upset that Joe's fans didn't understand how hard it is to be a father.
-------------------
Ryan called me at about eleven that night and asked for me to come over. He said it was an emergency and to hurry. Joe understood and said to text him when i got there.
When I walked into the apartment and then into his room I saw him sitting on the floor.
His eyes were bloodshot and puffy. His hair was messy and flat from where a beanie before laid and his sweatpants hung low on his hips.
"Ryan." I said dropping down to the floor.
"Come here." I said simply, pulling my best friend into a hug.
He wrapped his arm around me as I did around him.
"Sweetie what happened?" I questioned softly.
"Orion cheated on me, Acacia leaked my number, and my mom's moving to Europe. I'm losing everything. Even you." He cried into my shoulder.
"Ryan. You're not losing me. Ever. Orion doesn't understand how great you are and Acacia's a bitch. Why's your mom leaving?" I asked, answering everything at once.
"Work." He said simply.
"Ryan, look at me."
He looked up.
"Everything's gonna be alright."
"I've missed you." he sighed. I lightly kissed his forehead and insisted he tell me exactly what's going on.
We talked all night, mainly catching up and he talked to me about everything that had been happening lately. It was heartbreaking to hear that Ryan felt I was distancing myself from him. He was my best friend and he'd been so supportive during this whole experiance.
I went to go get cans of soda and when I came back Ryan whispered to me.
"Maddy?"
"Yeah?"
"Did you ever think that maybe Aria could be mine? I mean, we did take each others virginities a few weeks before Joe and you hooked up. It's probably stupid, but I mean. What if?"
I swear that my heart stopped beating for a second and my stomach leaped into my throat.
Her natural blush to her face, her brown hair are all more the reason to question it. I have all those features but it's still a reason to question.
What if what I thought was me and Joe's daughter, is actually me and Ryan's daughter.
