Leila's pov
Let me tell you this. I have never felt so happy walking outside into the fresh air. Well, besides Christmas of course.
Cameron was by my side, helping me into a silver impala. My mom used to own one when I was just a little kid. That car went through a lot of stuff - throw up, tantrums, new motors, tires, seat covers. I was a very messy child.
"So, where to?" I smiled, putting on my seatbelt. Cameron started the car, and turned on some music. "To see Ethan." My eyes widened, and reached to turn the music down. "You know where Ethan is?" Nobody knew where Ethan and I (and Gabriella) were living. That's why I chose it. So nobody could find us. "Yea. I saw him just yesterday." So Ethan knew where his sister was all this time? "When did he tell you where we lived?" She looked at me confused, then came to realization of what I was saying. She knew something that I didn't. "Yea, about that..."
"And your parents don't know about it but you do?" All I had were questions and less answers. Being crippled is really bad for you. You miss in what's going on outside. "Ethan, isn't at home. I don't even know we're you guys live." Once again, more questions that need to be answered. "Then where would he be? Jail?" I joked. I managed to left out a chuckle, and sat back in my seat. Hearing no amusement, from Cameron, I looked at her, seriously. "You're serious." I looked her dead in the eyes, when she nodded her head.
What could happen in just a few weeks - maybe a month - that gets Ethan in jail? Apparently a lot.
Ethan's pov
A loud beep surrounds me, when I'm brought into the visiting area. I have no doubt that it's Cameron. Yesterday, was a bad day. Obviously. My anxiety got the best of me. I've only had a panic attack once, before yesterday. It was the day when Scott told me that our parents were dead. I always told myself they were, so I could move on. But deep down, I knew they couldn't be dead. He never had a good reason of how they died.
I sat down in a chair, and saw Cameron with a small smile on her face, already holding the phone by her ear.
"Hey Ethan!" She chirped. Cameron always somehow brought a little happiness towards me as a kid. And it still works. "Hey cam." I smiled. She seemed very anxious, and could barely stay in her seat. "I have a surprise for you." I raised a brow, motioning for her to continue, when out of the corner of my view, I saw her. Leila.
"Leila?" I couldn't believe that I saw Leila right in front of me. I thought I was starting to imagine things. But when Leila said my name, I knew it wasn't a fairytale. It was real. Leila is okay.
"Ethan!" She smiled, and came up beside Cameron, taking the phone from her. Cam smiled, and walked away, giving us time to talk alone. "Where have you been?" I asked, shocked.
"I'd ask the same thing, but seeing you here, I can tell." She smiled, clearly amused. "Hey it's not my fault. It's Grayson." Her smile went down, and began to focus. "What happened?" She asked. "When me and gabby got home the night we saw each other at pleà, gabby left because she said she was going to spend about a week with her friends." She seemed bored at the sound of gabby coming out of my mouth. "When I was going to go to sleep, someone was at the door. A special someone that I now have a burning hatred for. Scott." Her eyes widened. "I thought he was dead?" I nodded. "I thought so, too."
"Scott set me up. He had cops beside the door so I couldn't see them. They're saying that I killed you. They think that I'm Grayson. I should've killed him when I had the chance." I muttered, angry. "Hey. It will be okay. I'm here, now." I looked at her as she smiled. "I'll talk to some people. I'll let them know I'm not dead. And I'll let them know that you're not Grayson."
"Thank you, Leila." She smiled, and sighed. "Anything for you, Ethan."
