Previously in Road TRIP...

Lana's POV

"I seriously wish I was back home right now" I say trying to start a hopeless conversation.

"We all do Lana" says Jackson his voice sounding bitter.

"Sorry, just trying to start conversation" I say grumpily.

"Well can you make it about something else" says Jackson.

"Forget it" I mutter just low enough for me to hear.

--4 Hours Later--

"RUN!!!" Screams Bridie as she makes a break for the exit with Hamish close behind her. I sprint after her but get caught on a sticky substance and fall to the floor. I scream in fear at the sight in front of me.

"LANA!" Yells Estelle with tears in her eyes, "NOOOOO!"

Present Time

We keep trekking through the forest with our spirits low and with us all low on food and water things have already gotton a bit shaky.

I keep my eyes open for a river or some food of some sort. I keep walking with Mia too tired to catch up to the others. I walk with my eyes kept to the ground and my head hung low from exhaustion.

"This is stupid" Says Jackson his voice full of annoyance. "Who is even leading us?!" He asks while looking around. I look up at Bridie and Estelle while they look at eachother, I feel Mia's eyes on me while Hamish looks at Dontae. It remained silent until Bridie broke the peace.

"We don't have a leader and we don't really need one" Says Bridie in a quiet voice compared to her usual cheery voice.

"Of course we need a leader, someone has to be in charge" Says Jackson loudly.

"Ok well who the hell do you suggest, Jackson?" Asks Estelle as she looks at him with an annoyed expression.

"Well, I will be leader since you haven't had any great idea's lately" Says Jackson as he towers over her.

"It wasn't me who jumped out of the bus" Says Estelle in defence.

"Hey, it was either that or get killed" says Bridie with a tone that made what she said sounded funny despite the seriousness of her words. Bridie and Estelle exchanged a smile and then turned back on Jackson.

"Yeah well look where that got us" Says Jackson annoyed.

"Guys guys, let's just let Jackson be the leader" says Mia as she tries to settle fight that was about to break out.

"Alright then, go ahead Jackson, lead us" says Estelle smirking as she crosses her arms and moves back to let Jackson at the front.

"Whatever" says Jackson as he walks by her and takes the lead of the group. About half an hour had passed and Estelle was already snapping at Jackson's poor leadership.

"Hey leader, why did we turn left? Ya know if we're looking for a river or at least a water source there is a better chance of one being at the bottom of the hill rather than along the side of it, and where there's water there's a good chance there will be food" Says Estelle in a complaining voice that you would hear when a kid asks their parents if they're 'there yet'.

The funny thing about her complaint is that she is right.

Jackson sighed in frustration and lead the group back down the hill. I looked at the girls who had exchanged a small giggle and a high five. If their plan is to get Jackson, our new leader, angry, well they are as closer to success as we are to death. Which is pretty close.

Hours later we arrive at the bottom of the hill which was humorously accompanied by Estelle and Bridie's many objections and complaints, but not even they could distract everyone from our hunger and thirst. Funniest thing from that whole journey was that Estelle was right, at the bottom of the hill there were grey pebbles and there was a small curve were a stream of clear water ran across the pebbles.

Mia and I quickly make our way over to the water and quickly cup our hands and drink, and so did everyone else accept Dontae and Hamish.

"Does anyone even know if this water is safe to drink?" Asks Hamish while trying not to annoy Jackson who was busy drinking the water.

"Should be, it does look rather clear, and it doesn't look dirty or dangerous" Says Dontae as he tries some of the water and nods. Hamish quickly got done on his knees and drank the water like everyone else.

But what none of us noticed was that we were not alone...
