Not Alone

Bridie's POV

We continue to drink from the little stream of water, unaware of what may be going on around us. I wish there was some food. I look around for anything but nothing seems good enough to eat. I cup my hands and collect some water and pour it over my legs, washing away the dried blood on my leg. I do the same to my other leg, taking in the peacefulness of the forest.

I hear the beautiful whistling of the wind rushing thriugh the tree's as me and my fellow companions drink from the water.

"Alright did anoyone see of collect like a bottle or anything that we can use to put some of this water in?" Asks Dontae as he gets up and takes charge.

"I still have that bag of soft drink" Says Mia speaking up a bit. Then everyone groans annoyed.

"Miaaa, why didn't you say something" Says Estelle laughing slightly.

"Seriously" Says Jackson annoyed.

"I'm sorry I thought it would make us feel worse" Says Mia apologetically.

"It's alright at least we know now" Says Estelle yet her voice sounded slightly annoyed.

"I have this" Says Hamish, speaking up for the first time in awhile as he pulls out a plastic bottle for an old bag that he had been carrying around.

"Where'd you get that?" Asks Lana confused.

"It's best if you don't know" Replies Hamish smirking.

"Look guys we don't really have a choice" Says Dontae taking charge again.

"Yeah he's right, just fill it with water and we will be on our way" Says Estelle.

"Does anyone have any food" I ask as I look around and everyone shakes their heads.

"We need to find some food" Says Lana as Hamish fills up the bottle with water.

"Alright then, let's go try and find some" Says Estelle taking charge slightly.

"Ok, I wonder how Michael is doing" Says Mia.

"Who's Michael?" Asks Hamish as he screws the lid back onto the drink bottle and places it back in his bag.

"An annoyance" Replies Estelle.

"He isn't that bad" Says Jackson defending him but then Estelle gave him 'the look' and he instantly changed his mind.

"Okk, wait why did he go off then?" Asks Hamish taking a guess.

"Dunno he just said we're stupid and left or somethin" Says Lana as she gets to her feet and stretches.

"Hmm, probably isn't worth-" Says Hamish.

"Shh!" Hushs Estelle cutting Hamish off, "I saw something..." Says Estelle as she stares at the other side of the stream.

"What is it?" Asks Lana not sounding worried at all.

"I don't know but we're not alone" Says Estelle deadly serious. She keeps staring at the otherside of the forest trying to catch another glimpse.

"What do you think it was?" Asks Hamish as he tries to find it too.

"I think it was an animal....but the thing is, it couldn't possibly be the animal I'm thinking of" Says Estelle rather confused.

"What animal do you think it was?" Asks Jackson entering the conversation.

"I-I thought it was...." Says Estelle her voice trailing off and then she looks over at me "I thought it was a spider."

I begin to panic, I hate spiders! She better be wrong.

"But it couldn't be" Says Estelle, "the thing I saw looked pretty big, but I did catch a glimpse of it's leg."

"Yeah but a leg doesn't prove anything" Says Jackson trying to calm everyone down.

"Actually an animals leg can prove quite alot" Says Estelle, here we go again.

"Oh yeah, how?" Challanges Jackson.

"You two cut it out, look it looks like a wooden roof, meaning it's probably some sort of building" Says Dontae as he points to a wooden thing amongst the trees on the other side of the stream.

"There might be some things that can help us in there" Says Hamish thoughtfully.

"Yeah, but what about the thing I saw?" Asks Estelle worriedly.

"Your not scared are you?" Teases Hamish.

"No way" Says Estelle and walks right through the stream to the other side, "Hurry up then" She calls with a hand on her hip.

"Very funny" Mutters Hamish sounding annoyed. We all make our way over the stream with myself and Lana crossing on the stepping stones to not get our feet wet.

"Why didn't you two just walk through? It was shallow" Says Estelle.

"I didn't want to get my feet wet" I say.

"Seriously" Says Estelle raising an eyebrow and then walks over to catch up with Jackson and Dontae.
