Jasmine Rhymer's POV

"Come on, chop chop!" Our new escort, Tiana Tiddles shouts outside my door. Our old escort, Plutus Pamper has been offered a new better job, so he doesn't have time for us. I run out of the door and down the corridor, flattening my tangled hair.

"Finally." Tiana huffs as my Mom wraps me in a hug.

"We're already late on our tight schedule. Come on follow me! No time for food!" Tiana says. She trots into the elevator and pulls us in with her. Tiana presses a button, hardly. The button says 'Training Floor'. Even though I have seen all the tribute Reapings, I am still nervous to see how skilled the other tributes are.

The elevator shoots down to the underground world. People flash by in a blur as we go further down into the ground. We come to a sudden halt. My Mom grabs my hand as we wait for the elevator doors to open. I snap it away, ungratefully; I don't want to seem like a baby. Mom smiles understandingly.

The elevator doors open and we step out. We are in a mostly black room, apart from the single red stripes at the top and bottoms of each wall. Bright lights lighten up the dull room. About twenty tributes are already in the room.

"Bye Bye!" Tiana calls and then shoots off in the elevator.

I look around the nearly full room. Opposite us is the twins from district three. They are the same age to me and they look very nice. They smile at me, shyly and I return it.

My eyes are taken off the girls as the elevator, containing the last pair of tributes dings open. The tributes from district nine shuffle out. I hear the 'careers' (the name my Mom told me what their called) snigger. I remember back to last night; the chariot parade. The pair were dressed in horrible grain suits. Unless they get very good scores from training or make a really good impression in their interviews, they won't get many/any sponsors. I smile sympathetically at them.

My gaze leaves the tributes from nine as a lady with cropped brown hair swings a side door open.

"Hello tributes, please follow me." She says. Obediently, we all follow her into bigger room. The lady stands on a red podium in the middle of the room. We all stand round her, waiting for her to instruct us what to do.

"Hello tributes, my name is Shayla and I am your training instructor. Before we start learning and perfecting skills for the hunger games, we are going to do a few tests. These tests will add to your training score, depending on how well you do." Shayla says. She then leads us into yet another room.

Shayla hasn't lead us into a room, but a long corridor with a series of doors going down one side of the walls. Shayla stands by the first door and opens it. The district one female, Ruby I think tries to run into the room. However Shayla stops her, abruptly, holding her arm out. Ruby huffs with anger.

"Wait. First of all I am going to all inject a small device into you. This device will track your heart rate, you will find out why I need to track this in a minute." Shayla says, signalling for us to line up.

The careers stick out their arm, casually and Shayla injects them. They storm in, excited to see the bounty waiting for them.

Too soon I am nearing the start of the line. My heart rate increases and my palms start to sweat. I've never had an injection and from the looks of it, it doesn't seem harmless. I swallow down my nerves as Shayla pulls my arm to her. She gives me a warm smile. I try to return a smile, but I can't bring myself to as she brings a extremely sharp needle closer to my arm. I grip the edge of my burgundy shirt as she plunges the needle deep inside of me. I feel a zap and a tingle as it goes in. I see a lump forming in the centre of my arm, where the device is growing inside of me. I gasp as Shayla takes the needle out, causing sharp pains to zap around my arm.

Shayla pushes me gently into the room. My mouth gapes open as I see the mechanical structures, going steeply up and down.

Kai Wyatt's POV

I look around at the other tributes, to see what their reaction to these mechanical structures are. The younger tributes look horrified and the careers look too excited.

Shayla walks in front if the line of tributes. "Behind me is a roller coaster. Each of you will be securely strapped in to a small glass pod and will travel along these pathways. Each of you have your own roller coaster (but they are all the same design). Every time somebodies heart rate increases, they will be eliminated. It will start off easy and not scary, however as you get closer to the end of the roller coaster it will get scarier. Good luck, tributes! Please now get in to one of these glass pods." Shayla says.

We all climb into a glass pod. Inside the pod was a cushioned seat and a red button. I restrain myself from pushing it. You can see out at all directions in the pod; the glass is polished clean. I tap the glass, it seems I unbreakable.

"The red button is only for extreme ermegencies. If you are injured or something extreme has happened, press it and we will get you out quickly. Okay! Let's get started!" Shayla shouts.

My pod moves towards one of the roller coasters. Marina is placed on the roller coaster beside me. I notice that it goes in district order, so we're near the front of the room.

"3,2...1!" Shayla shouts. Then we're off zooming up a steep hill. We slow down right at the top. I gasp as I look down, but I close my eyes and try to calm myself down. I can't go at the easiest bit! I still have my eyes closed as we rush down the steep hill down to the floor. I gulp and breathe deeply. We come to a sudden halt.

Shayla is looking at a computer at the side of the room. "The first tribute to be eliminated is Heather Berry, Could you please depart back to the orgianal training hall and wait there for your escorts to collect you." Shayla calls.

Heather's pod travels to the door and she climbs out. I notice she has tear stain cheeks and shaking hands. The poor girl won't last long.

Before I can sympathise Heather any more, we slowly move along a straight line. I squeeze my eyes shut, preparing myself for the next horror. I feel the pod twisting side to side. I clench my t shirt. I slide forwards as we come to a stop.

"The next tribute too be eliminated is... Ashton Gray." Shayla shouts. Ashton's pod departs the room.

I shut my eyes and try to think about other things. We twist and turn, going fast and slow, stopping and starting. I hear names being called out, however I keep my eyes shut. I feel myself flipping upside down and I breathe deeply, not wanting to be eliminated.

My eyes open, suddenly as we come to a quick stop. The pod wobbles forward and then regains it's balance. "Marina Shore, you are out." Shayla calls. Marina's pod moves towards the door. I smile at her. I need to win this, for her.

I look round the room at the remaining tributes. Bronze, Ruby, Alec, Rowanna and Gaze. I shut my eyes, determined I am going to win.

I stay as still as I can as I the pod swings side to side, upside down and then stopping. I hear Shayla shouts Ruby and her pod leaving. I stay strong as we travel along the roller coaster, I hear Bronze and Alec leaving. Two more to play.

I imagine I am flying as I travel up, down and all around. I hear Rowanna scream as she is eliminated. She is crazy. I open my eyes and eye Gaze, evilly. I don't want to be mean, however these are the hunger games and you can't be kind. Gaze gulps, maybe I've made him even scared.

My shut once again as we zoom up our roller-coasters. I grip the side of the chair as we go in all directions. As we come to a halt I gasp, realising I'd been holding my breath.

"Gaze, you are eliminated. Kai, congratulations you have won!" Shayla says. Gaze leaves the room. My pod follows after him, a goofy grin planted on my face.
