Jace Minkley's POV

Leila rides with Paige and I up the elevator. I glance over at Paige. She notices me looking at her and glares at me and then turns away. I don't quite understand why she's so angry with me. I did kill her Father, but only to save her. Didn't she understand that? If I hadn't of killed him, I wouldn't be alive, nor would Paige.

I heard Paige at the reaping whispering "I'm going into the games with the man who killed my Father." I've also heard rumours that the cameras picked it up. Now the whole of Panem thinks I'm and criminal murderer. Which I'm not, I did it for the right reasons.

I huff, trying to clear my thoughts and think of what I can do. I save Paige's life, the whole of Panem thinks I'm horrible. I won't get any sponsors. I'm practically dead.

The elevator comes to halt. The doors slide open and we all step out. "Thanks, Leila. You can go and do whatever you escorts do now." Paige mutters.

"But I've got to give you a tour of the apartment!" Leila says in her high-pitched Capitol accent.

"I'll find my own way around." Paige protests.

Leila sighs, defeated and trots away down a corridor.

Paige watches Leila go our of site. I stand there awkwardly not knowing where to go. I take a step forward to go down a random corridor, but Paige's arms interrupts my path. She bursts out on me and smashes me against the wall.

"Why did you kill him?" She spits.

"Well he was going to kill me and you," I say.

"To be honest I don't care that he's dead. But that leaves Tobias all by himself. Where's he going to go now?" She says, her voice breaking.

I gulp. District six doesn't have an orphanage. Resulting that Tobias is most likely living in the streets, hungry and homeless.

"I'm so sorry, Paige." I whisper.

"Sorry isn't good enough." She says and storms away in the direction Leila went.
