Angelic Judgement

Chapter 2: Lila and Andre

I don't know what to do for tomorrow. These are the only clothes that I have, what if he thinks I'm homeless? What if he figures out who I am? Or worse, what I am... I can't afford to think like that right now, I might at least try to get some sleep.

As Esperanza made her way to the old mattress with a comforter, she curled herself into a ball underneath its warmth in the warehouse where she hid from human society; where she felt the most safe. As she drifted off into her dreamland, she looked up through the dirty window to see her beautiful galaxy with a crystal moon surrounded by fiery stars. She began to smile at the dream she had every night of who she may see once more; the two people she sees only in her dreams.

"Mom, how did you and dad meet?"

"What do you mean?"

"Oh come on you know exactly what I mean."

"Ok ok fine, I guess it's been long enough for me to tell you."

I couldn't wait to finally hear the story of how I came to be, how an angel and a human ended up together.

"I was on a mission to go and save a group of men on the battlefield when I spotted your father; I started to feel emotions I hadn't felt since I had been on Earth."

"But how, you're an angel?"

"Well angels feel emotions of love just like humans, we do not lust though."

That confused me a little as I thought about the fact that you have to "have fun" in order to have a child.

"Now when I saw him I rushed to him and he was the first to be saved. I took him to a safe house where nobody would see us, see me since I was still invisible. But I exposed myself to him and told him not to be afraid and that I will be his guardian angel."

I thought that was the sweetest thing and would tell my mom that.

"Well sweetheart the problem was I wasn't thinking. He already had a guardian angel. I hadn't been assigned a person because I was a new angel. So when the mission was over and we returned to heaven I was in big trouble."

I didn't understand why she would be in trouble so I asked her and she told me,

"Well, when I got back I was brought before God and he said to me,

"Lila you've not only exposed yourself to a human being but also told him that you're his guardian angel which means he expects to see you again."

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't thinking." I told him.

" I know, and for that I'm giving you two options: I saw the love you had for this man. So you can either go down and be with him and no one else will know of your existence because you will be banished from heaven or we wipe his memory and everything goes back to normal."

My mother had to think about this for a long time before she was interrupted by another well known angel,

"Oh my Lord, you know that I love and respect you but I believe that she should have a greater punishment, she committed not one but two crimes."

"Now Gabriel you know as one of my favorites I love you very much, but she did not commit a crime nearly as bad as that of the fallen angel Lucifer; therefore she doesn't deserve such harsh punishment."

"I understand and did not think of that fallen angel, please forgive me my Lord."

"You are forgiven Gabriel, now Lila what is your decision."

"My lord I have made the decision to go and stay with the man I have fallen for."

This made all the angels in heaven shocked but God understood and allowed her to leave.

"Goodbye my beloved Lila, you will be missed, I will watch over you."

"Thank you my Lord I love you."

And with that she continued to tell her story. My mom left heaven forever and went down to Earth in search to find my father. She found him in a tent while still on the battleground. She looked and admired his handsome features with dirty blond hair and bright green eyes that fluttered open from being in such deep sleep.

With that my mom decided to enter into his dream to talk to him.

"Hello Andre, you may not remember who I am but I am the angel that saved you."

"What, why are you in my dream what do you want?"

"Well I want...you. I've left heaven because I've fallen in love with you."

With a slight a pause Andre looked at the beautiful angel with dark chocolate hair and eyes that look like the ocean and said to her,

"Well miss I must say that I'm very flattered and you're very beautiful and an angel, but how would we get to know each other?"

"Wait until you are done with your duty on the battlefield, then we can see where this will go."

So my dad stayed as a solider for another month before going back to his home in Los Angeles where he found my mom waiting. They lived together for about a year, getting to know each other until one day my dad wanted to start a family.

My mom was hesitant as she hadn't told him about how Angels do not feel lust, but because she loved him so and God was watching over them, she gave birth to me and named me Esperanza in hopes that she made the right choice in living on Earth. As I grew they realized I couldn't go to any schools because I was well, half angel half human. So they home schooled me till I was 18.

Once I turned 18 they told me I need to go find a place were I belong, which was not in their house. So they gave me some money and I was off, going city to city in hopes someone like me could find somewhere I belonged. I thought I wouldn't make it since I was not running out of money...But then Axel came around.
