Esperanza got up the next morning and looked over at the clock that she had stolen for the sake of keeping track of time. She had started to run out of money and began to steal things like food and such that she needed. She looked at the clock and it was 10 a.m. which gave her time to get ready.

She grabbed the bottle of shampoo and soap that she had and went underneath the bridge that she lived near. As she finished washing that day she went back to her warehouse home to check the time again and it was now 11: 55 a.m. Esperanza quickly rushed to the meeting spot that her and Axel had and saw that the tall chocolate wavy haired brown eyed male had been early.

"Hi Esperanza! Are you ready for the tour of the city?"

"Um yeah of course."

"Great let's start, so do you know where we are?"

"Um no not really."

"Oh ok well you are in San Francisco, California and that over there is the Golden Gate Bridge."

She looked over at the bridge that she goes under everyday to wash, she remembers all of the people that try to kill themselves on that bridge. She remembers that it was when she first used the abilities her mom has as an angel. When someone would drop she would go over while invisible and use her ability of healing and mind reading to heal and talk to the sad soul and tell them that what they are doing is wrong and tell them where to get help.

She then asked Axel,
"What do you do here?" He responded,

"I work at a small business bakery."

But she read his mind as he thought,

I can't tell this girl that I'm a detective from an alternate universe who studies humans

Esperanza looked at him in shock and whispered to him,

"You're from an alternate universe and study humans?"

Axel looked at her bewildered and tried to act like he had no idea what she was talking about. But that's when Esperanza knew he was different from other people and decided to take a chance and tell him that she read his read mind; that was how she figured out his secret.

Because of this, Axel then became interested in seeing if she could do more than just read minds. But she didn't want to open up that easily to him about all of her secrets. That's when Axel said,

"It's ok, you're in no danger with me, you've already figured out my secret of being a detective; We are known as Mankind's Agency and are made up of special being to study humans."

"Special being?"

"Yes, each of us are not humans, for example you are looking at a shapeshifter, I have a coworker who's a human wolf, and my boss well he's a dragon."

"Wait wait, a dragon?"

"Well he's usually in his human form but when in battle becomes a dragon."

"What do you shapeshift into?"

"I am a black panther."

"Wow.....Why do you study people?"

"Well the alternate universe I live in is known as Padaura. It's located between Earth and space. We are studying humans because we are at war and humans are currently at risk of extinction if our enemy invades Earth."

"Wait why would they do that?!"

"Because they want power and Earth would provide plenty of power."

"But that doesn't answer my question, why are you studying people?"

"Well we need to know the behavior of humans and understand them so that when we decide to start exposing ourselves to them we know how to approach them."

"And why would you need to do that?"

"So that they can join us in the war against the enemy of course. If you found out someone was attacking your homeland you would want to protect it right?"

"Well I mean..."

"Exactly. Once we understand the right way to handle people we will know how to persuade them to join us to help save their homeland."

"Ok I get it."

"Yes well now that I've spilled all the beans it's time for you to tell me who you are."

"Well, if it's of any value, my father's a human and my mother's an angel, so I'm half angel half human and have some of my mom's abilities."

"A Demi Angel? I never thought that was possible. What abilities do you have?"

"Well, healing powers, mind reading, my mom taught me how to fly and how to hide my wings, something my mom called "Guardian Angel" that's like a barrier, and this power called "Angelic Judgement."

"What do you mean by that?"

"My mom told me that current power I have to never use unless I'm in danger, we practiced using it once and it caused a lot of damage."

"What happened?"

"Well I blew up a crate at a warehouse because I create light into my hands and wheeled swords on my own."

"Wow! But why did you give some of these abilities a name?"

"It's kind of a comfortable way for me to use the more powerful ones, kind of letting others know I'm protecting them or attacking."

"You would be perfect for the Agency, where are you living?"

"Um I'm living in a warehouse so that I'm away from humans."

"Well then I guess that means it'd be an even better idea to come and join the Agency, we would welcome someone like you since you're just like us"

"Really!?!"

"Yes of course, how about you come and stay at my place since you have nowhere else?"

"Um I guess I don't really have any other choice but to say yes."

"Perfect! I can finish the tour and show you my place afterwards."

Esperanza went back to her dirty home as Axel followed. She grabbed all the items that she had, a bottle of shampoo and soap to keep herself clean, some food and water, and an old beat up hobo bag that she used to carry whatever she had. As she turned to look at the man that she had just met and was desperate to get out of the hole she was in, he looked a little sad.

"What?" She asked.

"You really do hate being alone for this long."

Esperanza didn't know what to say to this kind of statement, but Axel continued,
"It's ok though you don't have to be alone anymore."

She looked confused,
"Why do you want to help me so much? Sure you say that I can join your Agency, but why are you going all the way to having me live with you?"

He paused before saying,
"Because I know what it feels like not knowing if you have a place in this world."

It was at that statement Esperanza looked at him and began to breakdown, not because he brought up a sensitive subject but because she couldn't believe she found someone who understood her. The man looked at her in confusion and asked her what was wrong but all she said was,

"Thank you Axel, I've got everything now and I'm ready to go."
"Oh uh Great! I live in an apartment complex that's close to here, I don't have my car with me so we'll have to walk."
"That's fine by me."

Esperanza didn't care how long it would take to get to that place, all she knew was that she was about to start a new life in a place where she did  belong.
