Magistrate:
I set the lanterns on fire with a torch then head to the center so everyone can see me in the light. We choose the perfect time of night to carry out this devil plan. A plan which will surely get us all hanged. My black jacket is the only thing protecting my arms from the frozen rain falling upon my bare chest.
I am in the center of town, far away from the gladiator fight. I am the distraction from the main show. The opening act.
"Alrighty." I shout to the crowd. "Who wants to see something magical?"
The crowd is small and silent, the enemy tribes don't buy my act and start to walk at me. I throw a playing card from my hand, it sails past them flying up to the rooftop. Suddenly they don't see me as I teleport up there, grabbing the card from thin air.
"I was hoping for more of a crowd." I chuckle.
"How'd he do that?" A man shouts.
"Magic." I state, shuffling some cards into my hands.
"Do another!" He shouts.
I let the cards fly at them, falling to the wet muddy ground. I slap the frozen hood over my head and fall. Face forward in a swan drive at the ground. Right before I hit the ground I teleport to the ocean. I surface immediately and before I can freeze myself to death I teleport to the gladiator fighting area.
"Who's ready to rumble!" I shout. The crowd goes wild, I release some more cards from my hand, cutting out half the candles in the room. Making the surrounding dinner, making Nathaniel's job easier.
Time for the final act.
"Hey everybody!" I shout. "You may know me as the guy who was suppose to die. Guess what? I didn't."
Rumble from the crowd shakes the ground around me. I try and keep my cool, I push back my bright red hair out of my face and let the crowd die down for a minute.
"Now I need you all to do something." I ask. "Can you get loud?"
The crowd cheers.
"I can't hear you!" I shout.
They scream louder.
"What's that?"
Louder still. It's like an earthquake with noise.
"Yes!" I yell. "Stay loud!"
I grab a bit of powder and a glass bottle from my pocket and strike a match before shattering the bottle at my feet and releasing the powder into the air above me. I hold my breath as I let the match fall, hitting the gas from the shattered pieces around me.
An explosion like no other erupts on the stage. I quickly teleport out of the way, quickly returning before anyone can see that I was missing.
And that is how I survived an atomic explosion and sent a hidden signal all at the same time.
