Hailey
Grabbing a few books from my locker, I sighed loudly as the annoying bell rang through my ears. People were walking quickly to their classes, mostly the first-years who were walking in small groups with their gigantic backpacks, almost running through the halls. I let out a giggle as I found Olivia waiting for me at her own locker after I caught her kissing Kyle quickly. ''I saw that.'' I smirked as soon as I stood in front of her. Olivia's cheeks turned into a bright pink colour and started to walk towards our class, I chuckled, walking after her. We both let out a groan when we realised we had biology from Mr. Carter, the most boring teacher ever. He always finds a way to make things awkward, he stutters a lot, as if he's afraid of us or something. We all took our seats, I sat alone because Mr. Carter always complained that I was talking too much even though I was sure I wasn't the only one. I grabbed my books out of my bag and shared an bored look with Olivia who was sitting at the other side of the classroom. My head snapped back at the door which opened after somebody knocked on it. Revealing our principal and a dark blonde boy walking behind him, my eyes widened as I stifled a gasp. I recognized the boy immediately, it was Justin. But now he had a huge bruise under his left eye which was already turning blue causing a few students to gasp. He looked annoyed, but when he gazed over at me his glare softened. I formed a soft smile, which I wasn't sure was noticeable. ''Students, this is Justin..'' The principal paused for a second. ''Justin Bieber.'' He said eventually after he glared at Justin in a judgemental way. Justin rolled his eyes and held the shoulderstrap of his backpack tightly as his knuckles turned white. ''He's our new student, so don't mind to give him a tour through our school, and all those other things you do to a new student.'' Principal Williams murmered as he waved his hand dismissevely in the air. Principal Williams really wasn't that good at introducing new people, which made me chuckle softly. He walked out of our class after mumbling a 'goodbye'. ''Well.. Uhm, Justin you can sit next to..'' Mr. Carter trailed off, looking around the room if there were any seat for him until he looked over at the seat next to me. ''Hailey.'' He finished, nodding towards me. I saw a little grin on Justin's face as he walked over to the empty seat next to me.
''Hey'' Justin said, dropping his black backpack next to him as he sat down. ''Hi'' I whispered softly, not wanting to annoy Mr. Carter before I had to sit alone again. Justin brushed his hand through his hair and bit the inside of his cheek. We kept silence for a moment until I spoke up after I noticed we both didn't pay any attention at the lesson. ''What happened with your eye?'' I asked, my voice mixed with curiousity and worry. Justin avoided my gaze, he kept quiet but after a while he spoke. ''I got hit by a.. basketball.'' He mumbled. There was something that made me suspicious, as if he wasn't telling the truth. ''You sure?'' I asked, raising my eyebrows in disbelief. ''I mean, I didn't know basketballs could cause such big bruises.'' Justin snapped his head at me. ''I'm sure.'' He hissed. His sudden hardness made me a bit taken aback. I know it's monday but he didn't have to out it on me. I stared back at my book, but couldn't get my mind of why he had to be so harsh to me about his eye. I felt Justin staring at me before sighing loudly and turning his head towards Mr. Carter.
Lunch break had started, I took my seat at the table I usually sit with my friends, who were already enjoying their food while gossiping about -who else could it be- Justin. After biology, I didn't really talk to him. I greeted them as I plopped down along with my lunch. ''Oh my god, Hailey! You're so lucky to sit next to that Bieber boy, he's so hot!'' Olivia squealed as she took a sip from her diet coke. I rolled my eyes and chuckled softly. Then Chelsea leaned forwards, looking like she wanted to say something that was a secret. ''I heard he was arrested by the police once for being in a massive fight.'' She whispered loud enough for us to hear. ''Really?'' Olivia gasped, making me roll my eyes once again at her exaggeration. ''Where did you hear that?'' I asked, my eyebrows furrowed in curiosity''From me.'' Tanner said, sitting down on the seat next to me while fixing his baseball jacket. I looked at him confused, signaling him to go on. ''My brother knows him, he was at the same party where the fight was.'' He shrugged, propping a frie in his mouth. ''He knocked one of my brothers friends unconscious." I was a bit shocked, but for the first time in my life I didn't really know if this gossip was true. I liked to gossip -not that I'm some bitch who knows everything, but you know what I mean- but for some reason, I didn't want to hear anything mean about Justin. ''Really? he must be from the bronx.'' Chelsea huffed, shaking her head. The group nodded in agreement, even Caleb. Caleb was a good friend of me, he didn't like gossiping at all, let alone judging people. It suprised me Caleb was judging someone now.. I didn't say anything and continue to eat my salad while the others already changed the subject and were talking about somebody else. Sometimes I got tired of all the rumors, all the gossips. Honestly, I loved my friends but their lifes were built on spreading rumors, talking about other people.. I was glad I wasn't exactly like them.
