Hailey

Gulping down from my waterbottle before I took a bite from my sandwich, I felt my friend's eyes bruning holes in my face with their stares. First I thought it was because I was eating like a pig -I was very hungry okay- but then Nathalie spoke up. ''Okay, what's wrong with you Hail?'' She sighed, making me look up as I chewed on the bread. ''What are you talking about?'' I mumbled while I gulped down the food. ''You've been quiet for the whole day now!'' Tanner stated, shaking his head softly. I furrowed my eyebrows, acting like I was confused but actually it didn't suprise me that they noticed my silence. Ever since what happened yesterday, when Justin 'lost control', I was quiet all the time. I was thinking about it at every class we had, I even fought the urge to pull out my hair because I was so frustrated and sad at the same time about all of this. I wanted to help Justin so badly, I wanted to know what was breaking him inside. When he left my house yesterday, he left me with tons of questions and worry. Why should I even worry about him? He was dangerous, no good. But what if a part of me wanted his danger? I kept questioning myself how I could help him, how I could make him happy, because that's what I wanted the most. To make him happy. My train of thoughts got cut off before I snapped my head back up, realizing all my friends looked at me with a confused nor worried expression on their faces. ''I'm just tired that's all.'' I waved a hand dismissively in the air before shrugging. ''You sure you're okay?'' Caleb asked with a knowing look. Even though he was like those carelessly boys, he could notice it if there really was something wrong. ''I'm sure.'' I send him a weak smile as I finished my lunch. ''I have to go to the toilets, I'll see you guys in class.'' They all nodded in response before I walked off. Sighing in relief that Olivia and Nathalie didn't insist to go with me, I stepped inside the girl's restroom before standing in front of the mirror. Sighing again, I looked at the dark bags under my eyes. I didn't even bother to cover them up this morning, actually I didn't give a shit about anything today. Except for Justin, he was absent this morning. ''Hey girl!'' I heard the familiar annoying voice coming from my side. It was Miranda with her following dog, whoops I mean friend, Daisy. ''Hi'' I fake smiled at her. She was the captain cheerleader, extremely popular only because she was rich and gave cool parties. She was 'nice' and a bitch at the same time. I washed my hands as I slyly looked over to her and Daisy, who were doing their make up as if there could be more on their foundation faces. ''So about that Justin dude..'' Miranda spoke up to Daisy, pursing her lips to apply a thick layer of lipgloss on them. The name Justin caught my attention, making me gulp down. ''He's so freaking hot, I mean have you seen his biceps?'' Miranda's high pitched voice rose up even more at the end. ''Oh my god, I know right? But the way he looked at you though! Girl you totally have a chance.'' Daisy stated, flicking her long curled brown hair behind her shoulder. I felt myself growing heated as I listened carefully, pretending I was fixing my hair and didn't mind them. But I felt jealousy rise up, even though I hated to admit that.  ''Do you think? I mean, yeah I saw him looking but was it that obvious?'' Miranda almost gasped before Daisy nodded heavily in respond. ''Well, let's try him out then.'' She wiggled her thin shaped eyebrows before laughing exaggerated as she and Daisy walked out of the restroom. Try him out?! Who the hell does she think she is? I groaned loudly, wanting to slam a fist in that pretty doll face of hers. Sighing what felt like the hundredth time this day, I let all the anger disappear in the air along with the breath I just exhaled. Throwing my bag around my shoulder, I walked out the restroom too.

I walked over to my locker, where I found Miranda next to it while she was all over Justin and it seemed like Justin was all over her too. As if I inhaled the anger again, I paced over towards them. Throwing the door of my locker open as I grabbed my books with full force. Justin snapped his head over to me as the smirk on his face disappeared after his eyes locked with my angry ones. Slamming my locker shut, I mumbled a few curse words before walking past them. ''Hailey.'' I heard Justin shout after me. And me, with my stupid head, turned around for a few seconds to see Justin softly pushing Miranda of off him as he attempted to walk after me. I turned back around again immediately, continuing to walk to wherever I was going. I was walking the wrong way because my class was at the other side of the building. I could just slap myself for that but it would look stupid if I would turn around and walk past Justin again. I walked around the corner of the hallway and ended up in a deserted corridor. Leaning against one of the lockers, I let myself slide against them until I sat down with my back against the lockers. Pulling my legs up against my chest, I took a deep breath. Groaning in annoyance as I put my arms on my knees and rested my head on them. When is this day coming to an end? ''You know our class is at the other side of the building right?'' I shot my head up to see Justin leaning against the lockers next to me. Sighing, I looked at my knees. I didn't want to talk to him at all right now, I guess. I heard a soft shuffle coming aside of me before I realised Justin sat down too. I saw in the corner of my eyes that he was fumbling with his fingers on his lap. I didn't bother it and kept quiet, just staring ahead. After an uncomfortable silence, especially for Justin, he spoke up. ''You're not going to talk, are you?'' He mumbled, cocking his head to the side to look at me. I shrugged ''What do I have to talk about?'' I avoided his gaze. ''Look, Miranda came up to me and-'' He cut himself off. ''She's not my type.'' He was not good at explanations, that's why it didn't work for me. ''It didn't seem like it, you were all over her too.'' I bitched at him, regretting it immediately as I looked into his saddened eyes. ''I'm sorry.'' He whispered before looking down again. ''But believe me if I say that I think she's an annoying pain in the ass'' He softly whimpered, ''And she looks like a failed pancake.'' I giggled softly at the choice of his words. ''Yeah, she does.'' Chuckling, I looked over to Justin as I saw him crack a little smile before snapping his head up to look at me. For a moment, it felt like yesterday didn't happen, as if I've known him for years. ''Hailey, I- I am so sorry about..'' He stopped for a second before taking a deep breath. ''About yesterday.'' He mumbled. I was relieved in some kind of way, at least it seemed like he did care. ''It's okay.'' I smiled softly up at him, secretly looking at the birthmarks on his cheek. Yeah call me weird, but they looked so adorable on him. ''No it's not, I shouldn't have been like that to you..'' He shook his head. ''Justin, I understand okay? You didn't hurt me. Let it go please?'' I practically begged, wanting nothing more than to make him feel less guilty about it. Laying a hand on his shoulder, I squeezed it gently. ''Fine.'' I heard him say. We both snapped our heads up more as the bell rang, signaling lunchbreak was over. ''Ugh, let's go.'' I groaned in annoyance, standing up along with Justin. Then I felt a hand on my upper arm, stopping me from walking towards our class. I turned around to see a smirking Justin, furrowing my eyebrows together. ''What?'' I was confused because of his mysterious grin. ''Let's skip maths for today.'' He smirked down at me, making me laugh. ''You're kidding me right?'' I laughed while shaking my head, but stopped immediately as I realized Justin was serious. ''You're not.'' I widened my eyes, my laugh turned into a nervous one. I never, ever, skipped classes. I was always the good girl, getting high grades and was one of the best students in class. I gulped down the lump of nervosity in my throat as I began to fumble with my fingers. ''Well- uhm okay, I-I guess.'' I stumbled over my words, mentally cursing myself for being such a lame coward. Justin's grin grew even more, noticing my non experience with this. ''Are you practically saying Hailey Green never skipped a class?'' He fake gasped, trying not to laugh out loud. I rolled my eyes and slapped his shoulder ''Shut up! Ofcourse I did.'' I huffed, feeling my cheeks heat up at my lies. ''Yeah right.'' He snickered, turning around on the heels of his supra's, he began to walk towards the exit of the school. When he noticed I didn't walk after him, he cocked his head to my direction while the corner of his lips pulled up into a smirk. ''Are you coming or what?'' He chuckled, making me nod softly as I began to walk over to him before we both head out of the building and walked towards his car. Not without me looking at every direction possible, checking if there was anyone that could caught us which only made Justin burst out into chuckles before opening the door of his car for me. As he stepped inside too, I send him a cold glare, noticing he couldn't stop chuckling. ''What's so funny?'' I hissed irritated. ''You.'' He shook his head, bringing the car to life before leaving the parking lot and entering the driveway. ''Ugh, whatever.'' I groaned, already knowing that me being such a pussy, was the funny thing. After a few minutes of silence, my head snapped up from leaning against the car window. ''Where are we going anyway?'' I asked, looking over at Justin who had a cigaret captured between his lips before he exhaled a cloud of smoke, being able to answer my question. ''You'll see.'' He shrugged, tapping some ash of the cigaret out of the opened window. I hated smoking, yet it looked smoking hot on him. Oh the irony of that sentence.

The car stopped abruptly, making an end on my train of thoughts. I glanced ahead of me, revealing an abandoned outdoors subway station. Justin got out, making me get out too. I kept my eyes on the walls, admiring them. The orange glow of the afternoon sun made the colours stand out even more. I started to walk further to get a better view. ''You like it?'' Justin softly asked as he stood next to me, looking at the masterpiece in front of us too. ''I love it.'' I mumbled, earning a soft smile from Justin. Letting my eyes fall on a grafitti drawing that stood out the most. ''Kidrauhl.'' I read loudly while letting my eyes dart across the purple and golden letters. Leaning I bit forwards, I noticed there was a little scrabble under it. Bieber, it said. Then realisation hit me immediately. ''Is this yours?'' I almost gasped, switching my gaze towards Justin as my eyes widened  a bit. He cracked a smile, nodding slowly at the masterpiece before switching his gaze towards me. ''It's amazing.'' I whispered in admiration, wandering my eyes back to the wall as they locked on it. I was stunned, he never said anything to me about this graffiti stuff. Just when I wanted to ask wht Kidrauhl meant, Justin spoke up before I could.  ''Wait a second.'' Justin said as he walked along the wall, stopping a few meters further. He bend down and grabbed something from what seemed like a hole under the brick wall. Walking back towards me, I got a better sight of what he had in his hands. Paint cans. He stopped in front of me, lifting them towards me. ''Wanna try it?'' He raised his eyebrows, waiting for my answer. I smiled ''Ohmygod, are you serious? I mean yeah!'' I cheered, clapping my hands like a little child causing him to chuckle. ''Well, let me show you first babe.'' He coolly said making me blush at the nickname he gave me. Turning away from me with the paint cans, he walked over to a blank space on the wall a few meters from us, me hot on his heels in curiosity. Shoving on the hood of his hoodie which covered his perfect messy locks, Justin took steps in a bad boy way. I rolled my eyes and chuckled at his bad ass attitude but I had to admit I was extremely attracted to that. Yes, I'm becoming a badass too. We stopped right in front of the big wall as I looked over to Justin, who already was shaking the paint cans, preparing them or something I guess. Then, he began to spray black lines all over the wall, making a shape. My eyes followed the lines as I figured out it began to look like a little turtle. I kept quiet, admiring how good it began to look. He grabbed another can and sprayed the turtle green. After a few minutes he turned around, signaling me to come over to him. I walked over as I stared at his drawing. ''Here, you can paint his tongue.'' He said, giving me the can with the pink paint. I softly smiled as I stepped in front of him, feeling his eyes burning into my back. Shaking the can softly, I took a deep breath as I sprayed across the wall, biting on my lip in concentration. Perfectly painting between the lines of the tongue until it began to smudge a bit, making me pout and Justin to chuckle. ''C'mere.'' He gently pulled me a bit backwards. ''You were standing a bit too close.'' He whispered in my ear as my back slowly touched his chest, making me shiver. He cupped his hand on mine which was holding the can, putting his finger on my indexfinger as he softly pressed it against the cap. The paint now sprayed in a thinner layer, making it look much better. ''See?'' Justin whispered close against my ear before finishing the tongue. I nodded softly, and before I even knew it, the turtle was now full coloured. Justin gently took a step backwards, sliding his hand from mine. I walked backwards too, standing aside of him to look at the result. ''It's so cute.'' I cooed softly as Justin chuckled. ''Just like you.'' He winked at me, making my cheeks turn into a bright shade of pink. ''No wait..'' Justin walked over to the cans on the ground, grabbing the yellow one as he sprayed a halo above the turtle's head. ''Now it really does look like you.'' He smiled cutely, making me roll my eyes playfully. ''But you should've made little devil horns though.'' I shrugged, sticking my tongue out. ''So you think you're a badass now?'' He joked, causing me to scoff. ''No I don't! But hey we should be at school right now and look where we are now!'' I emphasized with my hands. Justin snickered, shaking his head. ''Yeah, we will get in sooooo much trouble.'' He fake gasped as I widened my eyes softly. ''Really?'' I took in a short breath. ''Hailey, jeez, stop panicking. We're not going to be in trouble okay?'' He laughed softly, relaxing me. ''Ugh I'm not panicking.'' Rolling my eyes, I looked at the ground. ''Whatever makes you sleep at night babe.'' There was it again. Babe. If I could, I would be fangirling right then and there, but that would be weird. Switching my head towards his direction again, I noticed he had turned to the wall again and began to spray a few words on the wall. I couldn't see it clearly so I waited until he stepped aside. When he did, he was blushing but tried to hide it as he cocked his head to the side, biting on the inside of his cheek. I turned my eyes of off him and looked at what he wrote above the turtle. My stomach made a few flips and my head heated up immediately as I read what was written on the wall in black and gold letters.

'I like you Hailey. A lot.'
