I remember that day. I was still excited about getting my new laptop. I still have and use the Yoga. I love to this day, but I may get a newer model soon. Who knows what the future holds.

I have a friend. Well besides Rylan. After we came back from winter break, there was a new girl in our school and grade. She was shy and didn't have anyone to talk to. So Rylan being himself told her that he would take her to the cafe during lunch.

He took her there to meet me. I would never have thought that I could click with someone that I just met, but she proved me wrong. That person is my new, soon to be best friend, Ivy. She is soon to be because we just met. Ivy is just like Rylan and me, writers. Yeah, I know, shocking. Not really. Anyway, Ivy is more like a journalist. She likes to write about current events and other stuff like that. So now we have writers in Nonfiction, Drama, and Fiction. I find it funny that we are friends, but hey, writers have to unite. It will also be easier to have people go adventures with you for research or to help revise and edit.

Ivy also has gotten plenty of chances to taste Ry's delicious creations. School started a week ago, and the three of us have already had almost three sleepovers already.

Ivy told us that she had moved during winter break, so she was able to hang out with us a lot more than expected.

We are sitting in a comfortable and cozy area in the library writing away. Rylan is writing a new play idea that he came up with at lunch. Ivy is writing about the difference between where she used to live and here. I am writing here in my journal. I haven't found something to write. The idea that I had about the girl and her coworker didn't work out because I didn't know how to write it.

That's the thing about being a writer. Sometimes if you just can't write the story, you have to give up on it. No matter how much you don't want to, you have to just do it. I have tried to go back to writing that story, but it has never worked out. Now I know why. It is nothing like me. The plot wasn't the type of plots that I write. I tried to make it different from my style. In other words, don't try to write something that isn't you. Stay true to yourself no matter what.
