Megan's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked through the courtyard in a rush to see JuJu, my roommate. She was helping me big time with the whole Matt thing and she also helped me get away from all that craziness. Matt wasn't mine and I didn't expect him to be, so when he was ready to tell me something then by all means come over and tell me. We haven't spoken in 4 days and it seems like forever, but then again I don't want to seem desperate.
"Hey!!!", JuJu squealed when she saw me. With her dark features aluminating her face in the day she looked stunning as usually. I smiled to myself thinking about the day we had planned. Some early classes, then the mall, then maybe a party or two. The last few words made my lips turn upwards and I smiled at the thought.
"Hey!! I can't wait for tonight," I said imagining the anticipation glowing off my face.
"I know," she smiled huge and then explained that Ryan hooked up with Erica!! We continued talking until I saw a glimpse of Matt running through the campus. I stared at him for a second. He was just a tad of a hot mess with his clothes wrinkled and papers flying. Well, I do usually fold his clothes and do his laundry so that explains that. Stop!! I can't think about Matt right now my mind screamed. I was focused on JuJu not Matt I convinced myself. But I knew that he sent butterflies into my stomach every time I saw him.
Matt's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I ran through the courtyard full speed, flying through the different paths and almost knocking into one guy. I had woken up 30 minutes late and the start to my Biology class loomed closer each second. I admit I am a bit of a mess. My clothes hadn't been ironed and my papers were everywhere. I hadn't spoke to Megan for 4 days or so now and it honestly felt like forever. I needed to talk to her soon. She deserves the truth and an explanation. More importantly I have to tell her that it's all over now. Over the past 4 days I spoke to Nikki three times and had confirmed her text. It was a miscarriage and both babies were lost. I still argue they aren't mine, but it doesn't matter much anymore. Everything's almost back to normal except with Megan and I. I arrived at biology with just a second to spare and slide into my seat as the door closed. Then, I saw Megan one row in front of me, an a seat to the right. We alway had biology together and usually texted through the entire thing.
Megan's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked out of class with a smirk. Watching Matt run into class just sharpened my point that I don't need him, he needs me. I drove straight to the mall and quickly met up with JuJu.
"Lunch?," she asked with questioning look.
"Definitely...starving," I said as we raced to the food court. We split up to grab our food. She headed towards the Applebee's and I headed towards Subway. I stood in line tapping my feet on the floor. Just as I was about to reach the register, a cold drink knocked into me. My shirt was soaked and I couldn't help but think this was done on purpose.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I don't know what happened, I tripped and I am so sorry. I'll pay for dry cleaning," the voice said in a desperate voice. I looked up to find someone unexpected. With large brown eyes and somewhat shaved brown hair, a guy that seems very familiar stood in front of me.
"Wait, Megan? Megan Crowley?," he stuttered.
"Yeah," I responded.
"It's me, Tyler Barto from your high-school. We used to go running together sometimes we even went to Split Rock," he said in an even tone. Suddenly all the memories flooded back to me, how could I forget Tyler?! We were pretty good friends actually, my mind was just far elsewhere.
"Yeah, Tyler hey!," I said.
"Yeah, is your college up here?" he asked.
"Yep, University of Delaware is about ten minutes not even,"
"Wow that's nice," he looked back down at my shirt, "again I am so sorry for that and I really can dry clean it," he said in a worry.
"No, no it's fine. You just tripped, a little lemonade can't hurt," I said with a grin.
"Alright," he said giving in, "but I get to take you for a slushy sometime as a sorry and we can catch up. I'm sure the college life is crazy just like at my school," he said with a smile.
"Yeah, that would be great," I said my mind scanning for when I could fit that in.
"I'll text you,"
"Ok," I stated.
"Bye"
"Bye," I called after him. It was good to see him I thought. I walked back over to JuJu with my sub in my hand. She sat at the table with a huge grin.
"OMG OMG, he was so flirting with you and not terrible looking," she squealed.
"No, it's not like that, we're friends from high school," I reassured her.
"I didn't know friends from high school ask each other out to sloshys," she said her eyes wide.
"Hey, he was just trying to make up for spilling lemonade all over me," I laughed.
"Sure he was," she said with sarcasm in her voice. I just rolled my eyes at her and then sat down. We shopped for another two hours and I came home with three bags and a smile. Party time I thought. I changed into a light pink skirt and threw on my black lace crop top to pair it with. I reapplied my make up and grabbed my bag, now I was ready. JuJu came out of the bathroom in a tight dress that stopped at her thighs. She looked almost too good for a party everyone would just get drunk at. But I smiled, better to be slightly over dressed then under. It was 9:45 and the party started at 9:15 but everyone knew that no one would really get there until now or 10:00. It was a Friday and people had other things to do. We walked down the street to the crowded house. People were starting to pile in and the party was just starting. We walked through the doors and some drunk people already started to get crazy. I looked over by the beer cooler and saw Matt standing there. He wore dark jeans and a nice T shirt. His hair was spiked slightly more than usually and for a second he reminded me of Stefan Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries and I couldn't help but admire him. I loved Stefan and I hoped I looked as good as Elena. But dressed as well as present day Katherine. Ok enough obsessing over Vampire Diaries I yelled at myself. I contemplated walking over to him, but I wasn't sure. If he had something to say he could come over to me. I turned around and walked over to Julia, one of my best friends from college. But before I made it to her I felt a tap on my shoulder and tinted to see Matt standing in front of me. Maybe this night wouldn't go as planned.
