(Megan's POV)
I grabbed the pile of clothes off my bed and stored them in the dresser. Then I glanced at my watch. 20mins late, weird I thought to myself, he's not usually that late. I peered through the peephole on the door, contemplating whether or not to text him. Finally I grabbed my phone off the table, no I can't I thought eagerly. I'll seem desperate and that's the last thing I need I signed dropping my iPhone onto the counter. The pitter-patter of rain fell against the rooftop and I was beginning to think he wasn't coming. I changed into my PJs after another hour and finally gave in and sent Matt a text. He never replied and by now I had given up. I climbed into bed and glanced at the clock, 10:30.(Matts POV)
I clenched my teeth shut and soaked in the pain trying to calm myself. I had changed into spandex pants and my transformation was pretty much complete.
Flashback
"Run, run fast and far and don't look back, I'll find you someday," she whispered into my ear. I stood frozen to the ground. "Go now or you'll never make it," she whispered, louder this time, "and I love you". I turned away quickly and her directions replayed in my head, run to the nearest train station and get to California. Then, make my way to my Uncle John in a small town in Southern California. I'll stay there for a few weeks with my head low and then move on to Texas with my aunt Ronda, after that i'll keep hitching rides around states for about a year until things die down. Finally, i'll go back to Uncle John and meet up with....her. The plan scared me. A shiver ran down my spine just thinking about it. I started to run, blood pulsing through my veins I flew to the corner of Edger road and stopped. I'll admit, I looked back. I turned to see them drag her away and the picture was sealed in my mind and replays over and over. I turned and continued to run until it happened. I had been running for some time and was walking the abandoned streets of Kentucky. I caught a glimpse of an old man pushing a shopping cart and couldn't contain myself. I sprinted up to him, desperate for human interaction. We talked for hours, wandering around. Just as we said our goodbyes, the man attacked me. He was working for the SPA and I had been dumbfounded to ever trust him. He injected a needle into me and the fluid ran through my veins as I sprinted far and fast into the darkness of the night. Over the next few years, she never came and I wandered off into a new adoptive family for disguise. I had become a hybrid of a werewolf, vampire, and a ghost, but the rules were changed. I couldn't control when I transformed, however I could control myself when I was fully transformed except for the fact that my bravery was increase by twenty and I always ended up getting myself into tricky situations. The only ghost related characteristic I have is the power to go invisible but I don't really use that. In addition, I could read peoples mines. I know, it's insane. Certain people were harder to read and with a special material, ivory, it was impossible for me to read anyone's mind. I know that there are others like me, but I've never met any of them, that part of my life is over.
Present
I shook my head, ridding all of the thoughts of the past away. I needed to focus. I glanced at my phone to find 4 new texts from Megan. OMFG Megan! I had forgotten that I was supposed to go over tonight, a great way to get her on my good side. I hopped into bed and decided to give her a special morning breakfast because the clock read 12:04 and she would probably be even angrier if I went over now. I switched off the lamp with my long claws and prayed that my transformation would be over soon.
