I woke up late considering it was the weekend and I was going to take advantage of that. I looked at my alarm clock sitting on my side table. 11:36. Holy shit! I didn't know it was that late. When my eyes focused, I saw that Juju was already out and about. I decided to start on some homework so I didn't have to worry about it later. That was until I saw the tray and bag that read IHOP on it. What the hell? I slowly walked over to the bag expecting a bomb to explode as soon as I went for the breakfast. I cautiously picked up the note that was lying on the bottom of the tray. I relaxed immediately when I noticed Matts script handwriting.
*Megan,
*I'm really sorry for not showing up *last night. I was trying to get some *homework done and I lost track of *time. I know it seems like a crappy excuse and I'm really sorry. I was going *to make you breakfast but I most *certainly am not the best cook, so I *decided to get you breakfast from the *best place around. Enjoy!
*MattI smiled at the thought. Wait! How the fuck did he get into my room? Whatever! I just need to enjoy this breakfast that I deserve! I took the breakfast over to the table we had in the room and began eating.
Luckily out room was one of the fortunate so we had a little tv. I turned it on, scanning the channels until MTV satisfied me.
Not even watching tv, I got lost in my thoughts. Two days ago I remembered Matt saying he couldn't come to the party at Juju's friends fray house because he had to finish homework. So why would he have to do more homework yesterday when we were suppose to be meeting. I thought we had a thing going. He did ask me out but now he's been avoiding me this weekend. I know I mostly avoided him through out the week but I thought he would care enough to ask me what was wrong. Maybe he didn't care for me at all the way I thought he did.
I heard a soft knock on my door cutting my thoughts. I walked over and opened the door revealing no one. I looked to the side, getting a view of the hallway. I saw a girl with long wavy red hair with pale skin, kind of reminding me of the princess Ariel. Right before she turned the corner she glanced back at me giving me enough time to notice her bright green eyes which I could of sworn had a tint of sadness in them. I was about to chase after her but then I realized what the hell would I even say to her? Hey! You're pretty, why? I felt something under my foot so I looked down to find a small box. I grabbed it and quickly walked inside of my room and slammed the door shut. I immediately opened the box to find a bracelet. It looked like leather threading with some kind of other material that I have never seen before. Strangeeee. The bracelet was pretty though and I really had no jewelry so I decided to wear it. I placed it over my left wrist. Everything accessory I wear must be on my left hand...no matter what.
I decided to take a quick shower, washing my hair with my favorite shampoo, strawberries and cream. When I was wrapped in my towel I heard my phone buzz. I walked over to where my phone was charging and looked down to see a text from Matt.
*Hey! Wanna hang out for lunch and maybe just talk? I guess we can call it a lunch date?*
I smiled. Maybe Matt does care about our relationship or whatever the heck it is.
*Sure! Meet you at Olive Garden in an hour?!*
*Sure, sounds great!*
I walked over to my small closet space I had and fumbled with a few outfits. I finally decided to wear a 3/4 sleeved black lace dress that stopped just above my knees. I grabbed my black converse because there was no way in hell I was wearing heels or flats. Those would be too fancy for the first date, I think I can say it is a date. I applied a thin layer of make up not wanting to over due myself. I went to go wash my hands to remove the lipstick I accidentally got on my hands, boy I'm such an idiot. I removed my bracelet from my wrist and placed it in my purse. I washed my hands quickly and then made my way to my car.
The drive was about ten minutes. I just jammed to random songs on my "The Fray" playlist and "Panic at the Disco". I walked into Olive Gardens to find Matt waiting for me. He looked amazing with his messy brown hair and his button up shirt with the dark jeans he was wearing. I smiled at him and he returned a smile back.
"Hey, you look great. Our booth is over here," he said leading me the way to a small booth made for two.
"You look great too," I tried to be polite. He just smiled back. He then frowned and turned away. Did I do something wrong?!

When I looked back at Megan all I saw was another flashback of my torturing past.
"Shut up! You know you love me!"
I smirk at her comment. I focused on her beautiful features. Her red hair flipped in the wind and the sun was giving her red hair the perfect glow. Her bright green eyes looked into mine. Her cheeks flushed red, almost the same color of her hair as she caught me staring. This was perfect, just having a picnic in these woods where we were alone and nobody was here.. There was a rustle in the trees.
"Get them"
Slavers.
I looked at her. The glint in her eyes had now turned into fear. I could see a tear slowly slide down her cheek.
"Run!" I told her. "I'll distract them." I shouted. She just stood still looking back at me. Then she came closer and began to whisper in my ear.
"Run, run fast and far and don't look back, I'll find you someday," When I didn't move she repeated her instructions. "Go now or you'll never make it," she whispered, louder this time, "and I love you". I did run. I don't know why I did. I can't believe I just left her. She's probably dead now because of me."Matt are you okay?" Megan cut off my flashback. Dang it! The same damn flashback!
"Yea, sorry," I replied with a half smile. She gave me a weird look before sitting down.

Everything was going well we ate and just talked about every thing, school, the future, family. When I asked him about his past and what he did before college he always changed the subject or gave me curt answers.
I took out my purse to grab my wallet and saw the bracelet. I pulled it over my left wrist again and showed Matt. He smiled and looked at closely. All of a sudden he began to cough. He couldn't stop. He excused himself and walked to the bathroom asking himself one question aloud. I heard him say.. What was it?
He asked himself the word Ivory!?
