Although the wounds healed fast, the devil left scars. These scars though could never be fully healed, just recovered from. I took her back to the ranch and cared for her, she didn't have to take the punishment for me but she chose to. Even though she barely knew me, I had feelings for her. I knew if I ever expressed them then the devil would take her and it would be one fight I couldn't win. He would tear her to pieces and scatter them to where I couldn't save her. This was different than anything I had felt in a long time, I hadn't actually cared for someone since the woman the devil made me kill. I had quit thinking that I could care for someone again. I still planned on keeping my silent promise to kill those shadow riders who had taken part in the torture. I still had to have a plan as to how I would hunt them down, I know as soon as I do then the devil will put a price on my head for defying him. He would also place a price on hers, which meant that I would have to either wait for her to get better or fight and protect her. But I couldn't wait for redemption.
It was time for a revolution, time to finally rise against the devil and stand up for what was right. My plan was to kill the shadow riders and harness their power. Once I had done that then I might be able to face the devil. Even then though it might not be enough. I would need to find another source of power that could help me battle Hell itself.
Don't confuse me for a fool, I know that it won't be an easy task to take down the remaining six riders, then make my way into Hell. Along the way I need to make sure that she recovers, but while it after the riders, my plan is for her to stay on the devil's contracts so that he doesn't suspect that she is part of my plan. I hope that she will have the ability to deny knowing my plan, even though I had told her that I was going after the riders for what they had done to the town and her. Come morning the Marshall of Death would ride again, this time on his own contracts.
