By the time I had awoken from the torture the devil had done the Marshall was long gone. I still felt weak but I knew I had to get moving when I walked to the dining room of what I can only imagine as the ranch he had told me about, I saw a note.
"My dear, you had taken the torture in my stead so I will now make things right. please don't follow me. In my place, you will take the contracts and in your spare time fix up the ranch for if I return."
These words haunted me, I barely knew the Marshall, didn't even know his name really, and I had begun to fall for him. I would follow the contracts but I would also follow his tracks the best I could. I had no idea where he had gone or whether this note meant something bigger or not, all I know is that if he is in trouble then I need to find him.
To be honest, I had hoped he spared me on the day he had shown up at the saloon, I didn't expect he would. But he has been lonely for years, so have I, the only difference is that I hadn't yet made a deal with the devil. But if he wants to break the deal then I will help him, or I will get both of us out of it by myself if necessary. One heartbreak shouldn't condemn us to a lifetime of torture and pain, I believe he has a slice of humanity left that could fall for me, and I intend to hold onto him.
As it stands right now it has been three months since I had awoken. I haven't seen him since the day the devil had torn me apart over and over again. I have been following the words of his note and killing the contracts as they came up. My kill toll is already at 50. Word is that a shadow rider had been killed and nobody knows why I'm actually on my way to investigate why this happened. The only thing I'm worried about is that the devil said that when I find who is behind it I need to kill them. Since the last kill I have been known as the Black-Marshall, named after my partner who had disappeared since I was tortured, and I only hope that he isn't the one killing the shadow riders.
