Two: Is this the life I want to live?
Two weeks later...
It was the middle of spring, where the crops were flourishing and the people in the Kingdom of Jia wrre enjoying the gentle spring breeze that would cool them after a long day spent at work.
In the last two weeks, many things had happened in and around the country of Jia but for silee, all that had happened for her was becoming a grandniece of an old farmer's wife whose husband had died the day they were married fifty years ago.
And silee thought her marriage was a tragedy...
Silee had found out earlier that she was still in her home country and was relieved to the point of shedding a few tears. But what she couldn't find out was the current date, as life on a farm didn't follow a normal calendar and everyone just used the seasons to mark the periods of time.
So silee still didn't know if she had reincarnated straight after dying or a few years later. She was hoping it'll be the former.
"Grandaunt, where should I put these?"
"Hm? Put them in the barn and don't try to slack off in there again. I'm warning you."
Since awakening, silee’s new life has consisted of waking early hours in the morning to tend to the crops, washing laundry in the stream that runs at the back of the barn and ending the day by massaging her grandaunts joints. This may sound like a tiring lifestyle and it was, but for silee it helped to keep her from being lost in her dark thoughts.
Silee placed the bucket of fertilizer in the barn that a neighbouring farmer had given them and was about to leave when she caught sight of her appearance in a dusty mirror leaning against the empty stable.
Silee has seen her new appearance countless times since awakening, in a windows surface or waters reflection, but it still didn't stop her from admiring herself yet again.
Her appearance now is definitely what one would call heaven defying.
Beautiful burgundy colored hair that falls in gentle waves down her back, sharp green eyes that are slanted endearingly in the corners and fair skin that is supple in all the right places. It was hard not to admire such a beauty.
Compared to how she use to look, silee liked how she looked now compared to before. It wasn't that her old appearance was any less beautiful, she just didn't think it visually suited her personality as well as this one did.
Silee suddenly sighed and turned away from her reflection.
But no matter how good-looking she was or had been, it didn't change the fact that she was no longer the grand magi she use to be.
In her prior life, silee had given up everything just to improve herself as a Magi. She even gave up the chance of having children and look where that had landed her. She still doesn't know if all that has happened is a good or bad omen.
Silee left the barn looking troubled over something when suddenly, her grandaunts croaky voice filled the air.
"Silee! Come here, we have visitors!"
Silee didn't need to be told twice and was rounding the corner of the small cabin with a smile plastered onto her pretty face.
But her steps faltered a little when she recognized the two robed figures standing in front of her grand aunt who was greeting them with a smile of her own. It wasn't their faces she had recognized but the symbols stitched onto the shoulder of their robes.
It was a white symbol of a sun being split down the center by a long, broad sword.
The symbol of the Burning sun sect.
