The entire theatre was bursting at the seams when the Auction started, yet no one showed displeasure or discomfort of having to share the tight space. In fact, everyone watched attentively and patiently as the Auctioneer, an azure staged truth practioner, took to the centre stage.

The auctioneer was a middle aged man with beady eyes and a full beard that curved upwards in a knowing smile. In his hand he held a list of the things he was about to sell, however, he didn't really need the list as he had memorised every item prior. After all, he had been in this line of business for a very long time. It was only for appearance sake that he brought out the silver list.

The auctioneer straightened the blue badge glinting on his chest before raising his head and loudly proclaiming.

"Welcome, everyone, to Redlight City's summer auction. I, Po, am your Auctioneer for the night..."

Seated among the mass was a fair young girl. She appeared to be happy just watching as items were snatched up left and right, not raising her slender hand to take any away for herself. An equally fair young man reclined next to her, his posture lazy and unabashed as if he were in his own home. He was rather content with aggrivating the crowd around him, going completely unnoticed after creating a mess of arguments and discontent among potentional buyers.

Silee glanced at her newest companion. He was truly an expert in causing misunderstandings and strife wherever he stepped foot. And he dared wear a face that screamed, "I'm innoccent."

Whoever cultivated this young man in the future was sure to reap equal benefits and heartache. And Silee was actually considering taking him under her wing. After all, his character was easier to handle than the golden, saint under the heavens type. But she soon shook this thought away. Something about this young man was strange, and Silee felt he wouldn't take kindly to her guidance. Thus, she turned away and threw away such thoughts.

Atlas, the auctioneer brought the entire crowd to attention when he pulled out a pungently scented box. This box was made out of simple, dark wood and was without any decoration or carvings. However, one could tell this seemingly simple box held an exquisite treasure.

Silee watched closely as the Auctioneer slowly opened the box and presented the contents for everyone to see.

A strange silence ensued.

Inside the box was a withered root.

Confusion and hesistation could be seen on the majority of everyones face. It was an reaction the Auctioneer expected, chuckling loudly as he closed the box and carefully placed it back in the arms of his helper. The young beauty then covered the box with silk and stood waiting at the side for the auction to sell.

"This, is the hollow woods spirital root. A very powerful root used mainly as a key component in core refinement."

Everyone took in a deep breath at his words. But the Auctioneer suddenly dropped his smile and sighed as he continued to say, "Unfortunately, it is a dying root. Thus we have lowered the price of this item by a fifth of its original. But even though its effect has been greatly reduced, it still has its healing uses if extracted carefully. So, the price for this item is set at 10 gold coins."

Such as healing the inner core, thought silee smilingly.

Everyones expressions turned slightly sour. 10 gold coins for a dying root? Only an idiot would buy it. A dying root was another term for diseased or incurable. As the auctioneer said, this root was a main component for core refining, which meant it would be absorbed into the body and soul to strengthen it. A dying core absorbed into your body and soul, would never happen unless you had a death wish!
