Silee slept for roughly four hours before she could no longer handle the sorrowful cries happening right outside of her door.

Beyond irritated, she hastily slipped on a robe and stormed out of her cabin door, sending the bird who was curled up against it flying in the process.

"Waaah!"

Silee managed to smoothly snatch the bird out of the air and then started to wring its thin neck with pent up anger and loss of sleep.

"If you are so distraught about the pitiful life you now lead, how about I end it all here, huh? This way we both will be at peace, you irritable chicken!" Silee threatened.

This stupid bird, it had been crying ever since she had laid her head down to rest. She had thought it'll surely give up after an hour had passed and let it be.

However, two hours had passed then three, followed by four and yet, it showed no signs of ending. In fact, it only sounded more and more sorrowful as time dragged on. Feeling angry by just remembering all that, silee squeezed tighter on the bird's neck.

Now, it cried for a completely different reason.

"P-please...m-m-mercy..."

"What?" Silee spat.

The bird wriggled pathetically in her grasp, one of its featherless wings flapping against silees deathly tight grip while the other wing was hanging limp at its side due to the fall earlier.

"I-i want....t-t-to live so...n-no c-crying!" The little bird squawked.

Though it begged like this, it still didn't think silee, this horrible human being, would actually let it go that easily.

After releasing the bird, silee brushed her hands down her robe and said. "Good. Make sure you keep to your word or next time...I'll be making a sunday roast out of you. "

Silee eyed the bird one last time before nodding her head in satisfaction and calmly returning to her cabin.

However she could no longer sleep thanks to that dreaded chicken and instead prepared herself for another long day by dressing in a pair of simple black robes.

When they had shook on the deal, Ian had given her all the necessities she needed and he didn't skimp out on the quality either. He even provided her with a few spending money and a paper signed by him that gave her permission to use his name whenever.

The trust he put into her was no small amount but silee wasn't a fool to think he didn't take no precautions. He was at the golden core stage, so of course he wasn't that simple.

After dressing, silee left the cabin feeling refreshed.  She even forgot her animosity towards a certain featherless bird.

But it still came as a relief when she found the bird was no longer lingering outside her door crying and was now sleeping curled up on a chair, because that pitiful cry had almost made her want to claw her eyeballs out.

However, she did find Ian pacing her courtyard impatiently.

When Ian saw Silee, he let out a long sigh and abruptly said. "Pack your things. We will be leaving here after breakfast."

Silee raised both eyebrows. "Why so soon?"

Ian shook his head around yet another sigh. "I have personal matters that need attending to urgently. Also, you'll need a registration plate and the only place you can get one is in the city. The nearest city will be Redlight city, so we'll stop there as I also have business I have to sort out there, before returning to the main sect."
