(IMPORTANT EDIT: I've decided to make this in the third person. I will still be continuing with the POV chapters, but they will be in the third person. Also, not much has changed, except for a few tweaks to accomodate the change of narration and a few inaccuracies. Happy reading!)

"Hurry up mom, we're gonna be late!" Tendou yelled, halfway out the front door.
"Okay, okay, honey calm down. I'm on my way" his mother reassured him as she slipped on her shoes and followed him outside. The August sun was shining brightly as they both entered the car. Soon, after they had fastened their seatbelts, they took off. Tendou watched as his house faded into the distance as they made their way to the university. His university.
"So Satori, are you excited about your first day of university?" his mother asked him with a smile on her face, only taking her eyes off the road for a moment to look at her son.
"It could hardly be called a first day mom. Everyone is just moving into their dorms and getting settled in."
"But still, are you excited? I am. My baby's all grown up." She smiles sweetly and puts her hand on his thigh, giving it a light squeeze. "I love you, Satori."
"I love you too, mom." Tendou replied and took her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.

The car rolled up to the administration office. Tendou got out of the car and headed inside. It wasn't busy as they had decided to leave early that morning to beat the traffic. He walked up to the front desk where a young woman stood. She seemed to be in her early-twenties, with black hair down to her shoulders and small framed glasses resting on the bridge of her nose. She also had navy eyes and a small mole on her chin near her mouth.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" She asked in a small voice. Her name tag read Kiyoko.
"Um my name is Satori Tendou? I'm here to check in?" He asked unsurely, staring down at the desk, avoiding all eye contact with her.
"Ah yes. Hang on a second while I look through these files." She pointed at a stack of boxes behind the desk.
"Oh, yeah! Uh, take your time!" He responded somewhat awkwardly.
She smiled at him slightly and went to look through the boxes. Why do I have to be so awkward! She probably thinks I'm weird. Not that that's anything new. He passed his hand through his spiky red hair nervously. She turned back to him with a red portfolio labeled:
Tendou, Satori. Major: Psychology; Minor: Criminology
She handed him the portfolio over the counter and setting a pair of keys, with the number 508 engraved on them, on top of a map she had taken out for him.
"This is a map of the campus. Your dorm is over here, the psychology building is here and criminology over here" Kiyoko explained while circling things on the map. "If you don't know where to find anything, come back here. I'll be here all day. But everything is on this map and this legend on this page should help," She added, a small comforting smile gracing her face.
"Thanks! See you around." He gave her a small smile and waved goodbye. She smiled and waved back in acknowledgement.
Tendou made his way back to the car, where his mom waited patiently for him.
"So, did you get everything? Your dorm key?" she questioned as he closed the car door and put his seatbelt on.
"Yeah, mom. I got everything." He answered as they took off towards Tendou's new home.

They slowly made their way to the student dorms, taking everything in as they passed by. The place was starting to fill up with students that were moving into their dorms. Stepping out of the car, they headed towards the back of the car. The trunk opened slowly and they both looked at Tendou's stuff longingly.
"Alright honey. We're here." She looked at her son with wet eyes and a sad smile.
"Mom, please don't cry. You know I hate it when you cry." He turned and pulled her into his chest.
"I know. It's just... you're so grown up now. I still remember when you wouldn't let go of my pant leg as I dropped you of on your first day of kindergarten!" He blushed at her words, "All I'm saying Satori, is that I'll miss you." She wrapped her arms around him tightly and buried her head in his chest. Tendou rested his chin on her head as she silently wept.
She let go, cleared her throat and wiped her eyes. "Let's get you settled in, okay?"
She turned and grabbed a few boxes from the trunk. Tendou quickly followed suit handling the heavier boxes. They passed many students with their parents as they headed to the door with the numbers 508. First years had their own residence, as well as the other years. Tendou opened the door with the key Kiyoko had given him but with some difficulty. Trying to open a door and holding heavy boxes in one hand did not go together.
He finally managed to open the door. He looked around and saw no one inside. My roommate must not have arrived yet. He set his boxes down on the bed to the right, near the windows. He took the boxes from his mother's arms and set them down beside the others.
So this is where I'll be staying. It's kinda homey, I guess. He sat down on his new bed as his mother stood in front of him. "Come Satori. Let's get your boxes up here so you can start unpacking."
He got off the bed and followed her to the car where the rest of the boxes lay, waiting
