Tendou woke to his alarm clock blaring in his room. Slamming his hand down onto it, he looked at the time.

9:45

It was almost time for him to get up and see Ushijima.

He placed his hand on his burning face. I'm going to see Ushijima today.

He got out of bed and stopped. What am I going to wear?

If someone had asked him if he had freaked out on what to wear, Tendou would've lied to their face. He frantically looked around his room. Clothes were thrown about the whole room along with papers and school things.

He took a deep breath and exhaled. I'm going to watch volleyball. What do I wear for that?

He ended up wearing a loose blue sweater and a pair of black sweatpants. He did his daily morning routine – brushing his hair, his teeth...

He left his dorm and locked the door behind him since no one was there. Is my roommate ever here?

He started making his way over to the gym. He checked his phone for the time. 10:37.

By the time he made it across campus, it was around 10:45.

He heard the familiar squeak of shoes on the wood floor from outside as he made his way up the stairs. Walking in, he stopped.

The gym was huge. There were seats surrounding the court, where the volleyball practice was being held, to hold hundreds of spectators. Maybe even thousands.

He slowly walked in and the door slammed loudly behind him. Everyone turned to look. Some people even looked at him funny.

Tendou caught the sight of someone he knew. He smiled.

Reon jogged up to him with a confused expression, but still with a smile.

"Hey, Tendou! What are you doing here?" He asked as he approached.

He stopped in front of him and put both hands on his hips.

"Um well Ush-"

"Tendou!" A mystery voice cut him off.

He looked past Reon and saw Ushijima jogging up to them.

Once he reached where they were standing, he stopped and gripped Tendou's shoulder with his strong hand.

"I'm glad you came," he said with the ghost of what Tendou could tell was a smile.

He smiled back, "Of course. You asked me to"

He steered Tendou over to the bench, away from Reon, and sat down beside him.

Tendou caught Reon's eyes. His eyebrows were raised high on his forehead as he stared at them.

Tendou turned back to Ushijima and smiled. The corners of his mouth slowly started to quirk upwards. They stared at each other for a while, never breaking eye contact.

A loud voice booming through the gym broke them from their trance, "Alright! We are going to have a practice match today!"

The coach split everyone into two teams. He counted each team. Ushijima's team didn't have enough players.

"Where's Takashi? Don't tell me he's hungover again?" The coach groaned in frustration. He made eye contact with Tendou, who still sat on the bench.
